my name is Hans Meier and I'm a former Republic Shipping captain. I've done shippings for Rheinland during the Liberty and Kusari war. When I saw your offer for the Koepchen Depot, I ran straight to the bank of Rheinland to request a loan. I see a great potential for that station. I'm however a business man and I want to lead the station economically successfully. The bank of Rheinland granted me a loan of 15.000.000 which I've to pay back as fast as possible due the interest rate.
While I talked to the station personnel in the last few days I had to make slight adjustment regarding the prices of that station. I also had to fire around 100 people as result of operational issues. We're currently processing some leftovers of the Karlsruhe field and (because I've currently no expert knowledge in waste processing and mox production) the scientists on the station told me, that uranium would increase the yield of the export Mox.
The rest of the loan was 4 million after the purchase, and I have now put 2.7 million in aluminum from Hammersee. I already sent out a transport to Bretonia to export the aluminium and import uranium from Leeds. The captain arrived at LD-14 by this time, but he was told, that transporting uranium is restricted in Bretonia...
I'd like to know, which source of uranium did SEO use when you ran this base?

Guten tag, Herr Meier.
Herr Linhardt has requested that I respond to this question, seeing as Ironmore made most of the uranium deliveries for both Koecphen and Eupen. You know by now that the Bretonians require a license for their Uranium, and they're unlikely to grant this to ALG-derivatives any time soon. I was told that it's important to the continued economic development, etc. But to me the reason is clear - BMM has a hold on the market, and they're not willing to share just yet. You may have better success applying as an individual, since I hope they won't begrudge a few thousand tons you will need to speed up processing.
However, I would instead advise you to deal with Kusari. Isehara Refinery in Sigma-59, managed by Kishiro, has been most welcoming to our business. While I have not made the trip after fulfilling the stockpile quotas, I doubt anything has changed on that front. So unless you have some problems with Kusari due to past... entanglements, this would be your greenest bet.
Of course, if you have some trouble sourcing from there, feel free to take advantage of our stockpile at Eupen. It will not be cheap, but we do have enough saved up for at least a few weeks of speeded processing.
I wish you the best of luck with the station, and don't hesitate to contact us further with any questions or contract opportunities.
at first let me thank you for your fast reply and the tip with Kusari.
The captain of the aluminium transport carried bretonian gold and gallic niobium back to the Koepchen Depot.
The Gold will be transported to Gallia in the next few days. I hope we can earn some surplus to pay bills and additional costs.
Speaking of surplus cash, we already run out of uranium unfortunately and had to switch to basic production.
As my only transport ship is currently busy with exporting goods and you seem to have experience with uranium transportation, I'd like to ask:
Which kind of ship does SEO use for transportation of radioactive materials like uranium?
I fear a Colossus train in it's basic form is not suitable for that. Are there some requirements (for lighting etc.) which have to be done beforehand?
It would be a dirty but fast solution to reuse my ship, as I cannot afford a HDWU-430 "Golem" at the moment, because I should pay back my loan first.
The production team told me, we would need around 90.000 uranium each month to keep the production running for 24/7.

Herr Meier, I understand your concern. However, you have to consider the challenges associated with the transportation of specific "contaminants".
The issue with Uranium is its radioactivity, but the material itself is quite stable. I generally took my orders as rod lattices, stacked up in columns via grav pallets. There's really very little chance of spillage as long as you follow standard procedure for cargo handling. Even if you get a defective "crate", the worst that will happen is that the rods will spill out and roll around in one of the hold compartments. In the end, all that needs to happen in either case is a power wash with any type of industrial solvent. Just make sure that the container plumbing isn't connected to the main system, heh.
All this is to say that any standard vessel can transport Uranium. The reason we have restrictions like 3.2.2 is that too many people like to cut corners around SOPs. But as long as you're operating under contract with RGS, no one will doubt your experience. They say anyone can secure a corporate contract, but you have to give yourself some credit for getting through their training materiel. Like I said, as long as you follow SOPs, you'll be fine.
Now toxic waste is another matter entirely. There's really no way to manage a mixed hold unless you're operating a Golem. Sure, you can retrofit any of the larger ships to carry it safely, but the cost in doing so will probably match at least half of the going rates for the newer Golem vessels. Of course the problem is securing a construction contract, but you've probably heard that our boss is willing to deal if the offer is reasonable.
I would say at this time, you can carry Uranium just fine as long as you go by procedure, but for Toxic Waste you will need to secure a Golem or contract us out. I hope you've found this useful - it's good to hear the new Koepchen owners are taking these things seriously.
I was tempted by your uranium offer first, but after consideration I realized that an import from Eupen would put you probably in a deficit position.
Thanks to your tip we were able to fill up Koepchens uranium supplies to a stock of around 15.000 units. That should be enough for a week.
Our scientists tried to substitute the uranium with azurite gas, but they were not able to bring statisfying results. We're currently exporting the rest, maybe there are customers out there, who have a better use of it.
Please accept this little gift as a sign of my appreciation for your Kusari advice.
