Good day I am Inspector O'Sullivan, currently on secondment from the Police Authority to the Civil Defence Initiative. I have been tasked with overseeing the procurement of a L-584 series hull and making arrangements for it to be fitted out as a serviceable carrier for mobile policing operations. In the interest of progressing this project quickly, a waiver has been obtained from the Home Office to bypass normal market tendering procurement processes. Instead we have opted to approach Border World Exports for a direct contract award, providing you have the capacity and stock to accommodate the order. In short, our requirements are: A L-584 series hull, preferably in a L-584-P Prison Liner configuration. Notes: Owing to the CDI's substantial budgetary constraints, second-hand, salvaged or converted vessels are preferred. Conversion of internal components to best suit the defined mission profile. Notes: This will involve replacing much of the brig facilities with an armoured cargo hold, installation of BPA-standard precinct comm centres (TLAGSNET compliant), and an enhanced hangar offer. Retrofitting of docking facilities classified for military-grade bomber resupply missions. Notes: I am led to believe Bowex manufacture off-the-shelf modular hangars. Our preliminary enquiries indicated the hull class can be expected to accommodate 2 of these modules. Ongoing maintenance and upkeep support. Notes: The project budget has allowance for an initial 5 year maintenance contract, with provisions for renewal or extension at the end of that period. We would expect warranties for work provided covering that period. Please could you confirm whether Scarborough has availability for the above project, and provide an initial estimate on cost if so. If Scarborough does not currently have access to an appropriate hull type to restore / refurbish, please let me know and I will make further enquiries elsewhere with a view to procuring a hull for works at Scarborough.
