My name is Izuhara Leiko, and I was recently put in command of the former warship RNC-Drechen or, as it now goes by now, Shachihoko, which is currently taking up space in Niigata's dry docks. In the interest of the Guild I am here to ask for assistance in getting the vessel repaired and fit to serve the wider Guild forces.
A report on the ship can be seen here, but allow me to summarize the damage. The Shachihoko, had major damage to its main drive systems and reactor systems, along with large amounts of internal damage due to the apparent firefight inside. This in turn has rendered much of the rest of the ship inoperable until these repairs are completed. My crew along with engineers from the drydocks have made minimal repairs to avoid a catastrophic explosion of the reactor itself, but much of the ship is still in dire need of repairs.
According to the my engineers there is quite a list of materials they would need to reactivate the ship, listed below.
I understand this is a lot to ask of the Guild but, I assure you any assistance would be appreciated as myself and my limited crew can't possibly acquire all of the necessary components ourselves. With the recent events happening on our borders there is even more reason to bolster the Guild's forces anyway we can. I hope to hear back soon, thank you for your time honorable Guildmembers.
I have been tasked by Guild Master Namura to supervise this project and ensure it successful completion. Several guild transport vessels will be given to you to command to deliver the required materials. One of the dockyards on Niigata has also been assigned to the Shachihoko.
I expect to receive daily updates on this project and I would like to see your logistics and operations plan. Be sure to include all planned expenses of this project and I will pass it along to Namura for approval.
Konnichiwa Honorable Commanders,
I am here to give you an update after a long delay on the Shachihoko. After supplies from guildmembers as well as outside contractors I was able to get in contact with, the ship has been restored to semi-operational status. The final supplies were recently delivered and are being integrated into the ship as we speak.
The ship itself is in a flyable state able to sustain itself but, I would advise against in a prolonged engagement. The ship is also capable of successfully navigating between Sigma systems although rather risky. I would advise against it until further calibration is done, unless absolutely necessary. The weapons systems and sensors still need to be updated to current Guild specifications but, the weapon systems are fully functional. We have all the necessary materials update them given time.
The Shachihoko will continue to undergo field testing now that is able to traverse on its own. Should you happen to see the vessel out and about within the Sigma systems. I will notify you of any new developments as soon as I am able.
Commanders? Is there someone else you are talking to? I hope this message and your attention to detail with it does not reflect on the work that has been done on the Shachihoko. Please do go over all systems of Shachihoko and ensure its flight readiness. Then go over it again. With a repair and conversion of this scale, you cannot be too careful.
Ensure the vessel stays within Sigma-59 where it can be properly protected while you conduct flight trials. It would be a shame to run into explosive gas clouds before you have all sub-systems fully functional. Once all trails are completed, report back and we can discuss next steps.
I am here to bring you a detailed report on our recent testing with the implemented sensors and navigational equipment. In order to adequately test the new equipment, the engineers installed the new sensors, but did not update any of the currently known data on Sigma-59. To test the sensors we positioned the vessel behind the nearby planet Higashi and proceeded to scan the planet. Using the data the clean scan provided and cross referenced it with previous information, provided the same scan data. The sensor suite could still be tweaked as time goes on, but as it stands it works and was able to output the same data as already previously known.
As for the navigational equipment, coming up with a suitable test was a bit difficult, but eventually we set on traveling through the dense Ryukyu Nebula in the north part of Sigma-59. Generally, navigating this Nebula is dangerous especially for a ship of this size, but it served as a good test not only of the navigational equipment but also maneuverability. The ship traveled deep into the nebula and shortly after the navigational data was wiped to ensure a clean test as we navigated our way back to Niigata. Should we have gotten lost or the new equipment failed we had a backup of the data should we need it.
Both of these tests turned out to be a success, and there was no malfunctions or failures throughout that would suggest any kind of problems with mounting or faulty equipment. The only component to test now is the shield. Should it hold up and doesn't overload the power core. The vessel should be ready to move into active service, unless you have any concerns before its final test.
In service to the Guild,
Guild Captain
Izuhara Leiko
I'm glad to see the ship trials are moving forward without any major hiccups. With the completion of both the sensor and navigational tests, you should move forward with testing the shield and power systems of the Shachihoko. After finishing whatever test you have planned, push her to her limit. Lets see where and what breaks, I would rather find out now than once the vessel is out in the field. Guild Master Namura has taken an interest in this project once again, so don't take too long.
Good luck Captain Leiko
