[13.02.2024 11:52:43] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: Guten Tag
[13.02.2024 11:52:44] SEO|T-Ironmore: Guten tag!
[13.02.2024 11:52:53] SEO|T-Ironmore: I hope the ol depot is still trreating you well
[13.02.2024 11:53:02] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: well
[13.02.2024 11:53:42] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: Sure, we're still facing more or less logistical issues
[13.02.2024 11:54:18] SEO|T-Ironmore: Ach, I've never liked it being out there in Cologne. No infrastructure besides that researcher station
[13.02.2024 11:54:27] SEO|T-Ironmore: Wuppertal can barely support itself, so it can't help...
[13.02.2024 11:56:45] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: The location however has the advantage to act as a junction of four houses trade center
[13.02.2024 11:57:29] SEO|T-Ironmore: That it does. I think if you take care of the old station, it'll take care of you in turn
[13.02.2024 11:57:37] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: Unfortunately we don't have the logistical or structural capacity to exploit this
[13.02.2024 11:58:29] SEO|T-Ironmore: I suppose it was always meant for a larger investor. We put it to good use at the time
[13.02.2024 11:58:48] SEO|T-Ironmore: But naturally we are not a trading concern, so once it served its purpose it made sense to sell
[13.02.2024 11:59:44] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: Well, don't get me wrong - the production still stays profitable
[13.02.2024 12:00:28] SEO|T-Ironmore: Excellent! It's always a shame when a long-serving station falls into disrepair
[13.02.2024 12:01:06] SEO|T-Ironmore: I fancy that Koepchen is likely older than say this very ship!
[13.02.2024 12:02:08] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: As far as I know the station was constructed 826, or is this a wrong information?
[13.02.2024 12:02:36] SEO|T-Ironmore: All I know is that we bought it from some Junker kingpin
[13.02.2024 12:03:06] SEO|T-Ironmore: And I would presume he's had it running for a while before that, doing who knows what
[13.02.2024 12:04:20] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: Well, I don't really care about it's past, and whom did what with it.
[13.02.2024 12:04:57] SEO|T-Ironmore: Indeed. Our very headquarters served its role as a civil war resupply depot
[13.02.2024 12:05:18] SEO|T-Ironmore: A lot of colorful history in Rheinland, wouldn't you say?
[13.02.2024 12:06:16] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: Might be, but as said - I don't really care - I've taken that station out here to have my peace
[13.02.2024 12:06:31] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: Without political intrigues or whatever
[13.02.2024 12:07:04] SEO|T-Ironmore: I hope you will have it! The Hessians and the decline, and Gallia has ever been our ally
[13.02.2024 12:07:22] SEO|T-Ironmore: Cologne should be a nice safe place for the forseeable future
[13.02.2024 12:08:36] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: Ja, "should be"
[13.02.2024 12:10:06] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: Meanwhile I see ALG ships attacking Daumann ones in front of the Altenburg.
[13.02.2024 12:10:19] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: I won't call this peaceful
[13.02.2024 12:10:34] SEO|T-Ironmore: Surely these are mere simulations?
[13.02.2024 12:11:23] SEO|T-Ironmore: I have not heard anything like this over the net. I suppose it will continue happening on the border and edge
[13.02.2024 12:11:35] SEO|T-Ironmore: But so near Rheinland...
[13.02.2024 12:13:04] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: Well, I tend to stay out of conflicts between them for obviously reasons but it feels strange
[13.02.2024 12:13:24] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: And I know the difference between a fight and a simulation
[13.02.2024 12:13:52] SEO|T-Ironmore: Well naturally, I just meant that it could be an exercise. I've seen more than my fair share
[13.02.2024 12:14:12] SEO|T-Ironmore: But ALG certainly has the will to do these unsavoury things...
[13.02.2024 12:15:06] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: Says the alg affiliate
[13.02.2024 12:15:50] SEO|T-Ironmore: You see my tag? Sure, we're an affiliate, but we've gone through a de-merger
[13.02.2024 12:16:23] SEO|T-Ironmore: It certainly counts for something, as we've had plenty of clean-up contracts!
[13.02.2024 12:17:16] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: But well, I don't know what your papers say, but the Ironmore showed an ALG transponder
[13.02.2024 12:17:40] SEO|T-Ironmore: Oh certainly. Rheinland does not allow the registry of any small concern
[13.02.2024 12:17:42] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: So I guess, your "de-merge" wasn't successful?
[13.02.2024 12:17:50] SEO|T-Ironmore: And we'd rather not fly under Freelancer registry if you take my meaning...
[13.02.2024 12:19:10] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: So you look like an ALG and you do clean-up tasks like one - why shouldn't I consider you as one?
[13.02.2024 12:21:34] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: I mean, don't get me wrong - I have no problems with ALG, we already contracted two ship captains
[13.02.2024 12:21:54] SEO|T-Ironmore: Apologies, was chatting with the Polizei
[13.02.2024 12:22:14] SEO|T-Ironmore: It is ironic you say this mein herr. I have not seen ALG attempting any clean-up in the past few years
[13.02.2024 12:22:41] SEO|T-Ironmore: They're actually outsourcing further and further away from Rheinland. So perhaps they perform them out there
[13.02.2024 12:23:20] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: Maybe they outsource the cleanup tasks to smaller affiliates like SEO
[13.02.2024 12:23:43] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: You know, so it looks more fancy in the overall business reports
[13.02.2024 12:24:16] SEO|T-Ironmore: Heh, I assure you, we are no longer affiliated. We do business together, ja
[13.02.2024 12:24:50] SEO|T-Ironmore: My sense is that the current ALG leadership has little interest in clean-up, which is why it is ironic
[13.02.2024 12:25:07] SEO|T-Ironmore: So I suppose they're happy that someone else stepped up to do this needed job
[13.02.2024 12:25:51] SEO|T-Ironmore: And I've never had cause to complain about my pay, so perhaps they're looking for something more lucrative
[13.02.2024 12:28:20] Koepchen.Trade.Ship: Hans: I guess it's the usual CEO-syndrom - they are all greedy
I was telling you that we had logistical issues with the station.
While this is still true, I meanwhile had contact with some gauls from the neighbor system Zurich.
I was offering them a supply contract for the alloy, we were able to make out of some scrap of the old Olpe wreck.
They were not interested, but they brought up an interesting concept, which might be the solution to Koepchens current production limit.
In the orbit of planet Saarbrücken you'll now find an external alloy production facility, which will also be used as remote cleanup site for the Tholey wreck field.
it has been a while.
I can proudly announce, that the smelter near the Tholey wreck field has by now processed more than 1,000,000 units of scrap.
If you ever need a cost-efficient source of basic alloy, make sure you stop by - you don't find a source with a price below $5 in the Alsace Passage.
For the public we still sell for the price of $7 at the Koepchen Depot and we're still working on the current production limit - we have so many units of scrap,
that I had to ship around 50.000 to the Eupen Handelsplatz. Which reminds me - it has been a while since the last time I saw SEO-tagged ships near Olpe.
Guten tag, Herr Meier, it is good to hear from you. If you can believe it, I was just musing about what happened with Koepchen, and here you are to satisfy my curiosity.
As you may have heard, Sirius Entrsorgung did not succeed in its incorporation in Rheinland. Herr Linhardt, while understandably disappointed, decided focus back on our original mission, that of contractual waste disposal. We still have our clients in Rheinland, but we have acquired new ones in Bretonia and Liberty. That is what I have been focused on, and though I can't speak for my colleagues, I believe they have followed suit.
With a substantial up-front investment and no one particularly interested in fronting the bill, the Olpe project has been shelved for the time being. But that is not to discourage eager independent concerns such as your own from taking the job, ja? I am sure that if you approach Herr Linhardt with an offer, he will consider sending us out to assist you. But it is unlikely that SEO will spearhead this project. So you will need to involve the Polizei or the government, and we will follow suit.
Finally, I am glad you are thinking of us, but as you may have noticed, we have quite ze functional smelter of our own, so we are never short of alloys. I would recommend instead reaching out to our Daumann clients at Ruhrpott - perhaps they'd be interested?
of course I know, that you have your own smelter, I wouldn't bring you scrap if I assume that it is not working.
It was just an hint if you are going to operate within Gallia for example. Of course this is only a small remote station, I keep the population low on this one, so I can offer the alloy at a customer-oriented price.
We here in the Alsace Passage are not able to offer you fancy prices like you are used to in the capital system. It's relatively fast to fill up a couple of loads of scrap metal to the station. Any surplus will be resold and you are able to reload it on a bigger ship. We adapted this idea from the before mentioned GMS smelter and we use some surplus scrap to saturate the Koepchen Depots smelter for further alloy processing to keep the overall base upkeep as low as possible.
It is really pity, that the Olpe salvaging is canceled. I would really prefer if the Rheinland police or governmental forces retreat from this system, as they tend to overcomplicate things, which makes it harder to get a reasonable income for honest work. As you said, SEO will focus on it's waste removal service, I might have a tip for you - Le Paradis des Chats, a GMS base in Zurich, produces a whole amount of waste each day. Today alone I have already removed 10k from it, but as you know, we are always short staffed and our main removal ship concentrates its service on Falster. As result of this, GMS ships have often to bring their waste to Koepchen. I offer them sometimes some platinum from Wuppertal for transportation back to Gallia, but I'd really appreciate if someone would help me shipping their waste.
I'll keep your idea with contacting Ruhrpott in mind.
Herr Meier,
I am glad to hear that you are thinking of us when you are considering waste disposal assistance. As it happens, Herr Linhardt has previously established an open-ended contract for such an eventuality. I know it has been advertised before, but perhaps the administrators on Le Paradis des Chats overlooked it? I know there's been some trouble with House regulations, so it may have been relegated to neural net spam for many kapitans.
In any case, feel free to inquire about this from the administrators, and we will do our duty if contracted. Meanwhile, I will personally pay a visit to the location and scope out the route. I've certainly purchased enough Molybdenum from them that they should remember Ironmore and his crews. Maybe I can put in a good word for SEO while we are at it.
by now, I did not find the time to ask a GMS, perhaps your attempt was more successful?
But in regards to your mentioned trouble with house regulations:
I recently encountered some bullying of the Rheinland Polizei in regards to transports of vital commodities to my base.
Is Eupen also affected, when it comes to the supply of toxic waste, food and water?
