PROJECT DETAILS:
SECTION IPROJECT SUMMARY
Originally commissioned as DHC 'Der Blauen Donau' in 825AS by Daumann Heavy Construction for housing Iridium mining operations in Omicron Delta, the ship was siezed by Federalist forces seeking to commandeer a way back to Rheinland space during the outbreak of the Imperial Coup. On successfully reaching Thuringia, the ship was quickly rechristened the 'Bifrost' and refitted for duty as a mobile jumping fighter squadron carrier to be used on the front lines.
The Bifrost served on several missions in support of Federalist forces as a carrier for fighter screens and for moving fleets into or evacuating out of trouble spots utilizing her jumpdrive. During the final siege of Thuringia, the Bifrost stayed in Weimar orbit with her drives on stand by in the case that the defensive lines were broken by the invading Imperial troops, but was ultimately unnecessary as "the Christmas Truce" broke out several days into the siege, ending the war in a war-weary reunification.
Now, the Bifrost serves as Director Siegfried's personal forward operating base in support of long range UKORP and "Extended Logistics" missions. As a FOW, the Bifrost hosts multiple UBOAT remote control bays for piloting unmanned UBOATs including the U-66, U-33, and the U-42 - as well as hosting fighter wings.

The original factory stock civilian model CE engines finally gave out during pre-refit assessments in drydock - I've arranged for a piece of the inner core waveguide to be scrubbed for radiation and displayed in the ready room as a piece of history.
Engine refits have been completed as of 01:35 today. Unfortunately, the Capital class HNP engines are still heavily waitlisted, prioritizing repair of ships still rendered immobile from the War. As such, we have recieved a salvaged VP engine array from three ELBE class vessels that were written off completely.
Calibrations have concluded without issue, and as of now - 20:21, we are setting off. We have received sealed orders from Flotillenadmiral Siegfried to be opened on reaching Freeport 14, Inverness - after transporting some supplies and personnel to Barrier Gate in Coronado, and conveying one Dr. Lucretia Herschel to the Starfliers installation in Inverness.

As of 23:31:10 we concluded our final jump to Inverness with minimal time lost - our internal chronometer shows a 3 minute 14 second discrepancy with the universal time.
Dr. Lucretia Herschel disembarked without issue, and is now on board the Starfliers installation.
We've begun to decrypt the sealed orders, and will stand by near the Barrier Gate to complete offloading supplies while the crypto is disassembled.

Flotillenadmiral Siegfried embarked from Barrier Gate station. Per the unsealed orders, we were to make for Liner Barbados to meet with a contact with a tip to the location of the remains of a particular ship located somewhere in quadrant F4 of Kansas. Safely navigating the Kansas hole resulted in some difficulty, given the amount of ship debris adrift - but locating the ship in question was a straightforward matter. It was a long process to locate and sample all remains on board without disturbing the wreck or leaving any indication of our search - the Flotillenadmiral insisted on overseeing the process himself. After some time, one of the sampled remains matched with the registry of Rheinland-Liberty war missing persons - their remains were carefully retrieved and stored in the viewing room, where the Flotillenadmiral insisted on being left alone.
We set return course to Frankfurt by way of the Pennsylvania-Texas-Hudson-Hamburg route, some stellar drift had occurred since the end of the war - our maps have since been updated.
In Hudson, we detected several ships at extreme range, and engaged our cloaks per standard protocol. When we noticed that they bore Technocracy IFFs and flew in what appeared to be a search pattern, we decloaked and inquired about their behavior.
Conversation revealed that they were part of a 'Task Force Prometheus,' a group of survivors from the Hellfire Legion which had joined the Technocracy after the Legion was destroyed by what we are assuming is a combined Libertonian and Bretonian taskforce - based on the remains we encountered. There were three TFA ships in total, all small fightercraft - two fighters and one bomber - which insisted that the systems of Kansas and Vespucci were of some import to them due to the remains of their former comrades. While we admitted to no intrusion, Herr Siegfried emerged from the viewing room in the middle of the conversation - and on debriefing, he ordered us to relay his sincerest apologies and the promise of a minor favor.
Thus mollified, the TFA vessels broke off and returned to base, and we returned to Frankfurt. On the way, we transferred the remains to a courier bound for New Berlin to be interred properly. We were also instructed to relay a private message to the private residence of a civilian family in the borough of Mitte.
Upon reaching the Schatten Drydocks, I ordered a full recallibration of our engine emissions - which are now pending.

On orders of the Director, we sortied into Omicron Theta in support of battlegroup Balder as part of a larger operation against the Wild. There, we encountered a large Corsair fleet that was presumably also there to address the alien threat - the aliens were removed swiftly, and the Corsairs immediately turned to attack us. Due to the disorganized line of Corsair warships, The Balder and the Bifrost were able to focus down one of the lead Corsair cruisers while the stragglers caught up. Unfortunately, we were extremely outnumbered and the Bifrost barely managed to withdraw. The Balder was unable to disengage and was critically damaged.
After retrieving our fighter screen and resupplying the Director's fighter, we withdrew to Omega 41, and then back to Frankfurt. The Bifrost is currently undergoing maintenance at the Schatten drydock.

After two months on operational support duties in Coronado, we received priority orders to embark all research teams previously assigned to support of the Starfliers collaboration awaiting transport back to Rheinland, and instead make for best speed to Fontana Freeport in California. Per instructions, we have left a minimal stay behind support wing at Barrier gate - and all mission critical operational command personnel attached to site Mímisbrunnr have been temporarily headquartered on the LV-Gram. All defensive wings were left behind at Barrier Gate as ordered.
The Jump took approximately 12 hours 21 seconds 52 centiseconds with a documented discrepancy of 13 seconds 11 centiseconds per Liberty Standard Time - and are now at Fontana Freeport.
Some of Director Siegfried's personal store of '812AS Kentucky Bourbon' whiskey is here as well, as ordered.

Director Siegfried departed for Barrier Gate on U-42 for some manner of meeting. We were issued orders to jump to Earhart to investigate reports of strange mass readings received by remote telemetry. With U-605 and the KKS-Kaiserin.Leicht as escorts, we encountered a mixed force of Corsairs and Order - which was dealt with per this report. Given that this was our first confirmed kill, the crew were issued celebratory rations from the Director's personal wine stock.
Damage control reports no significant damages to any decks, save for some tripped breakers for the shield generator subsystems which are currently under repair. With the crew in high spirits, we are returning to Coronado to relieve the backup coordinators to our IW division logistical overwatch.

While conducting readiness exercises in Coronado, we received an urgent medical distress call from BAF Merchant Marine vessel Warwick. Warwick reported that they were carrying refugees from Planet Erie, and there was a potential contagion on board which had rendered a portion of the passengers severely ill.
As Rheinland is a signatory of the Accords on the Maritime Rendering of Humanitarian Aid, we fulfilled our obligation to assist. Posing as a Luxury Liner vessel, we boarded 138 of the most critically ill to our cryocontainment quarantine facility. The asset known as 'CALIBAN' provided a private tip indicating the potential for alien infection - as such, we will be keeping the patients in complete quarantine until they are conveyed to a temporary secure facility for processing.
Let it be noted that First Officer Fritz Altman protested this action as a needless risk of crew and resources.

For the last several weeks, we have been ferrying high clearance scientific support staff from Sommerda to Aesir Facility in preparation for station refits and to a primary staging area in Coronado. On our last maintenance cycle at Aesir Facility, we recieved extensive engine and armament upgrades - affording us much higher combat maneuvering thruster speeds as well as firepower.
Currently, we are en route from Point of Interest BLAU in Ontario back to Barrier Gate in Coronado with Director Siegfried on board to attend another meeting.

En route to AESIR facility for routine maintenance and refit, we were accosted by three Hessian cruisers and a Bundeschuh gunboat near Mainz.
Per the Clausewitz protocol, in order to protect the location of AESIR, we scrambled our heading and proceeded to engage the Hessian fleet while broadcasting a general request for reinforcements. The [RM]KKS-Kaiser and the [RM]KKS-Tirptiz, accompanied by a {DHC}CSD-Ortler and an Inspektor of the Rheinland Police answered the call - but were lost as more Hessian reinforcements joined. One of the Hessian cruisers, critically damaged, elected to fly into Holstein to escape capture.
Now critically ountumbered, the Bifrost continued the fight. The KKS-Torun and the bounty hunter VX-15 arrived to reinforce us, and together, we elimited two more Hessian Cruisers.
But the Torun and the Bounty Hunter were also soon lost. Again critically outnumbered, I ordered the crew of the Bifrost to evacuate to Mainz while I remained on board with a skeleton crew to man the ship until the end.
The Bifrost was critically disabled in Mainz orbit, but my crew and I survived on the reinforced bridge. We are currently awaiting a tow to AESIR drydock for repairs.
