I know this is a bit out of my position to report to you about, but wished to report a kill that our forces managed to secure against the Liberty Navy earlier tonight under my command - no small feat given the unorganized response at first. As acting commander on call at the time, having been tasked with supply efforts, I had requested Miss Mieko Iekahara, Auxesian Initiate, callsign Yoruha, to accompany me for the travel in her off time, and was in communications with Adjutant Yoko Mori, Lieutenant Locksmith, and Initiate Yukiko Hideyoshi. At this point in time we were not in a combat situation, but were ferrying supplies in the Taus, until we got a distress alert from Hideyoshi. Her ship had encountered a Interdictor-class Assault Battlecruiser, the LNS Yosemite - whilst it did not give chase, we were not about to allow the Navy to start hassling us.
Mieko, of her own will, decided to connect to a Waran-class bomber over VNC, and join with Locksmith, Yoko and Hideyoshi towards the California System to intercept and prosecute the capital. Once on station, I assumed command using Mieko's VNC connection to establish C2 functionality, given that neither High Logarch Denelo Mori nor my fellow Lieutenant Locksmith had done so. We had fanned out across the system to find and engage the capital, only to initially have it leave our grasp, before finding it at the New York Jump Gate, where we immediately gave chase. The ship had at one point, managed to fire on civilian traffic in the midst of our engagement - not that employing the use of lackluster FCOs that couldn't shoot straight if their lives depended on it these days did them any favors - we pressed on the ship as it attempted to retreat back to the Battleship Yellowstone. In the midst of it, Grand Tectarch West joined our engagement, at which I relieved my command over to her.
At around 0500Z, the LNS Yosemite suffered a catastrophic powerplant failure and was rendered combat incapable. I attribute part of the success to Yoruha's capability to cripple the onboard shields of the ship, which allowed the heavier hitters to pound at the superstructure.
Firstly, Megiddo, I hope this ship's crest hanging on the proverbial kill wall will help rally the troops' morale just as well as my recent escapade near the Ontario gate, and shows my abilities to help lead in the heat of battle have diminished much less than I initially thought.
Secondly, Leviathan. Yoruha has told me a lot about herself, and about you. If she can aim true like this and hone her skills, she'll put some of Liberty's best to shame. I have to show my appreciation for her tenacity and skill in battle, as well as what you've done to help her along. She.. obviously has some things to work on, but I am certain she's a flower waiting to bloom. If you will allow me in her spare time, I would like to train her on Anti-shipping warfare, show Mieko some old tricks I knew from back in the Navy.
Despite your recent arrival, between your capture of the Yosemite in California and recent command accomplishments including this one, doubts of your loyalties have been quickly put to rest. My artificial self has great interest in the remote command of combat vessels. Leviathan will recall a discussion I had with him in which I envisioned a possible future where ships - such as my own - function more shells, avatars, rather than vehicles. If we can preserve life this way via the development of a direct neural interface, and if precise control can be achieved within a certain latency tolerance, then this may bear fruit.
Therefore I am authorizing your biological self to coordinate with Commander Freud and Initiate Iekahara in the development of non-local (FTL) battle platforms. If a latency-minimal solution can be achieved, then my artificial self may grace the battlefield alongside your biological self.

The technologies utilized as part of the Vessel Network Control system are based partly on open-source technologies and integration into ships is not an issue, as it requires a simple apk-get command to execute as a root operator. That being said, however, my use of VNC does come at some moderate risk, as I must operate a VPN server at the vessel in question that restricts communications only to that vessel, encrypting the traffic, which adds some latency, around 10-15ms. The reason for this is due to the reliance on the neural net's RAIS backbone.
RAIS, or Redundant Array of Inexpensive Satellites, is a cluster of satellites operating at superluminal speeds in a mesh configuration, which ensures the neural net's stability and functionality, even in worst case scenarios, such as the cataclysmic jump gate outage years ago. This system is jointly maintained by Interspace, Ageira, Kishiro, and several other corporations. It used to be under the authority of Interspace's Neural Net Division, but after scandals arose with power being primarily in Interspace's control, a decentralized authority was established under the collective manufacturers and maintainers of the RAIS backbone.
Using VNC over the neural net is hazardous for humans and risky for AI as is, but my advanced security features mitigate the risk up to a point. There have been occasions where some bad actor may want to.. commandeer my shell with a remote code execution vulnerability.. which reminds me I need a code audit on my shell's firmware.
That being said, my suggestion is that we construct our own RAIS array that is focused on our area of operations with lower density of satellites throughout Sirius, preferably in a fashion that mitigates Libertonian, Bretonian or other state actor (or hostile actor) interference. I can also help develop and compile a version of VNC that can be configured for your architecture, as well as versions friendly to human users via neural laces when connected to a system capable of handling FTL communications. Doing this over a secure network, using our own technology, will allow us to minimize latency at the hardware level.
We have the technology for superluminal communication at low latency, thanks to technologies granted to the Ouroboros through cooperations with second-party entities. As a result of the de-facto dissolution of the Ouroboros Revolutionary Group, and being its' sole surviving high command officer, I am affording and surrendering this technology to Technocracy of Auxo and Task Force Prometheus as a token of appreciation for welcoming me into the fold. I will augment this technology in coordination with Commander Freud for the development of the SVNC system for use by both Auxesia and the Legion.
The positive capabilities of such a system for the Technocracy and Prometheus are two fold - it will allow AI units to operate and go between managing vessels freely, and if computational ability allows, more than one at a time, rather than being directly mounted to a vessel. It also will minimize casualties of pilots on high-risk operations, and allow QRFs as shown in the other night's engagement with the Yosemite, to be deployed quickly, regardless of where personnel are in the sector.
