Cap'n Moretti,
How ya doin'? Bet ya expected to hear from me soon, well here I am. About them rovers...
But, before I git to it, I gotta extend my formal gratitude once again. It ain't everyday that you see sum' friendly feller offering freshly baked Military Vehicles.
How's the logistics of this gonna look? We pickup from Ontario? Maybe Pennsylvania? Meet halfway in Fontana? Either way it's your choice. Just don't drag my boys out to some far-flung boonies, you probably heard about our fuel situation...
Bethlehem's port should be open to y'all if you'd ever-so-kindly express ship it to us, just in case yer feeling even more generous. Oh, and as for the turret arrays, we'd like two plasma cannons, two anti air batteries, and maybe a good ol' fashioned autocannon. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what ye proposed as an initial shipment - five rovers.
Hope to hear from ya soon.
Wait, there's one more thing...
So I had me a look-see in our warehouses, to check if we can even store these vehicles somewhere in the first place. And I noticed that we have a buncha' Rheinland light arms sitting there gathering dust, sum' ov 'em looked like they were broken. I confronted the quartermaster 'bout this peculiar thing, said they used 'em years ago. Apparently some mysterious benefactor piloting a shabby ol' liner would drop these off every so often, that is, until his ship was spotted by Liberty patrols and got blasted, so the shipments stopped - obviously. Ain't no spare parts to fix our old stock so they might as well be bludgeons at their sorry state.
You have the faintest idea what I'm talkin' about? Maybe point me in the right direction?
I'm given to understand that a group of six Kestrels have already departed from Ontario and are bound for Bethlehem with your cargo. Five VYPRs each stowed on a respective Kestrel. The sixth is holding all the turrets that you can swap across the other five. That makes fifty units of turrets being securely freighted.
You can expect their arrival over the next several hours, or at latest early tomorrow.
I'm confused by the other half of what you're saying. Well, equal parts concerned the you have apparent benefactors in Rheinland that you don't truly seem to know much about. Best I can tell you is what I heard from our wings that operated in Pennsylvania just before the H-Fuel blockade. Which is that apparently a pilgrim liner carrying a hold full of weapons was interdicted by the Navy.
What doesn't add up in my mind was where it got caught. On the other half of the system as if on route to Kansas. Better yet, the Delaware herself locked down the entire grid square around it once the ship had been disabled. There was never any mention of arrests, so I can only assume the gun runners in question escaped.
The term biological weapons was also thrown around a lot on media both official and otherwise. And that doesn't correlate with the dusty guns you have in cold storage.
I wouldn't be so sure that ship was bound for you at all.

Bio weapons you say? That can't be right...
Yeah, we likely have nothin' to do with that particular liner, god I hope not.
Still, the liner was carrying weapons, and from what I hear on the news they had Rheinland serial numbers on them. My only guess is that somebody used this trade-avenue in order to try and disguise themselves as yet-another arms dealer. Guess they weren't smart enough.
This answers none and only gives me more questions. Worse yet, this incident is likely what stopped the Rheinland-arms shipments in the first place, the feller didn' wan' to be Delaware's next target, zone got too hot.
With that outta the way, I'd still very much like to see our Rheinland stockpile revived, better yet, resume trade with whomever was cooperating with us at the time. You know of any Rheinland contacts of our caliber that we may collaborate with? Throw me a bone, would ya?
Oh, and do expect those Kestrels to be welcomed warm and in open arms, just like you welcomed me back in California.
Well. If you go by the accounts of one mister Colin Frei then we're in league with the Hessians or something to that effect. The reality of rebellions in Rheinland is that while there are oh so many of them, they lack the shelf life to do anything of real value.
I was hopeful for a deal regarding a deal with a Bundschuh organisation known as the platform. It seemed like we were going to co-operate in helping you free Erie but then they just dropped off the map. I've not heard back at all from their apparent leader Erich Klugmann. So I wouldn't rely on any of them just yet.
If guns from Rheinland are truly in need your best bet might ironically be Bristol based out of Bering where Freeport 2 used to be. I'm aware that might hurt your nostalgia like hitting your funny bone on a door handle, but they do seem like your best bet.

I had a look at this Bristol you mentioned, gotta say they have a very nifty neuralpage, credit where credit is due. But I don' think a buncha' meek station builders who prop theyselves up at a graveyard are gon' be providing the type ov stuff I'm lookin' for. Besides, they ain't even in Rheinland. I need someone intertwined.
Now this Bundschuch organisation you mentioned, that sounds promising, it even rings a bell. I have an odd hunch tellin' me they were the original source, or at least, the ones who directed the arms dealers at us. I'll start with them, and ov course, I'll tell them to holler back at ya, if I even git an answer in the first place that is.
If I have to falter back to them Bristol boys, I suppose it would be better than nuffin'. Although you gotta convince me, what do you see in them? From what I read they ain't even ten years in Sirius, I'm finding it hard to believe that fledgelings like 'em can get a single Hessian Tear.
So I'm not going to sell you on the idea of using Bristol as a supply point for guns sourced from Rheinland. They operate a Freeport in that region of space which is a fact worth considering but using that facility is entirely up to you.
You have scarce few alternatives that are reliable.

Hooowdy there Champ.
How ya doin'? Been doing good I hope. Despite all that ruckus busying yerselves there in Ontario.
Anyways, remember when you suggested the Platform? Well I mentioned their name at ya', not sure if you really asked for this or not in the first place, but I did mention you.
This is a personal note from Mister Civil Servant theyself;
(07-04-2024, 11:57 PM)Civil Servant Wrote: "Tell him to vent himself, he's soured his chance with me."
Now don't git yer panties in a twist, it ain't the end of the world.
He did not say this in the name ov his entire Platform, so maybe yous still have a chance with them Rheiner folk.
And by the way, please dun shoot 'em up if you see them in Pennsylvania, they tryna' help.
I shot him down in Ontario. That's where this sudden enmity comes from. Our kind don't take kindly to uninvited guests, least of all the kind who seem to just be staring at the alien relic on Sudbury. I followed my gut instinct with him. Maybe it was impulsive, but he's not vital to us and the LFR can certainly live without Bundschuh assistance. Not that there's much they could offer us.
You have my word that your supporters will be left alone in Pennsylvania. I'm not a fool and can see the bigger picture at stake here. For the sake of independent colonies everywhere else in the sector, we need success stories.
Though I am a little disappointed that you aren't looping us into any of the action. We vowed to fight for you from day zero, but there's scarcely anything we can do to fulfill that promise if you leave us in the dark. And naturally, my people have started voicing concerns over the issue.
It would be nice if you could dispel these doubts.

Forgive me if I seemed rude,
But if mem'ry serves me right in that summit ov yours, you lot were all flappin' yer gums 'bout that Sudbury glowin' like an explodin' Liberty warship, just purple or somesuch. Not only that, but the crickets that ensued followin' my rally to Pennsylvania still haunt me to this day. Now I ain't gunna blame ya for any ov this. But do anderstan' where this notion is comin' from, it ain't some disrespectful gesture - I assure you - but a consideration ov your situation, is-all.
Furthermore, you do remember that message from Pinnacle Station, right? You've shown some unwillingness to partake in Pennsylvania operations, which to my anderstandin' comes from the fact the Legionnaires would be makin' an appearance. Which they did by the way, I hope you don' mind that we're utilising these useful idiots as cannon fodder, after-all, they do gotta pay for what they've done, one way or another. In-fact, they've been mighty supportive in helpin' us to deconstruct a lawful installation, I'm sure yer folk over at Milford already showed you my lil' stunt.
Speaking ov stunts.
One ov my fellers had this crazy, suicidally brazen idea to assault Detroit Munitions itself. I dunno what went over his head, but I'd wager he gained some undue bravado after he managed to convince and recruit some Legionnaires for this operation. As you could imagine, attacking a station in the middle ov New York did not go well, luckily for us, half ov our casualties were the brunt ov the Legionnaire force, which makes the defeat all the less sour. Although, maybe if I had paged yer Ouray folk, a couple ov yer aggressors could have changed the tide ov battle, but it is what it is.
Look, it ain't that I dun' appreciate with all that you've done, I just don' really think it would be such a great combo to have ye spread efforts away from Ontario, and to also risk confronting the Legionnaires by coming to my aid.
If yer still adamant, I suggest giving an ear to yer reconnaissance reports regarding dispatched Liberty Navy patrols, namely the 46th| Fleet. We had an unfortunate skirmish with them in Colorado, at the New York gate. I imagine that once-again, yer Ouray fellers would've been an insurmountable help in this situation.
At no point have we ever refused, or otherwise expressed a lack of interest, in sending you reinforcements. You appear to have misunderstood the purpose of my message that I sent the Pinnacle admin. I was pointing out the fact that the Legionnaires had already preemptively broken his most significant rule.
And I was right.
But desperate times call for alliances of convenience. And I'm well aware your people need all the help they can get, especially if that help happens to be expendable. You won't catch me telling you not to exploit the Legion's hero complex. I applaud you for it.
Still, please understand that your compatriots have been acting strangely with us from the word go. And now with the added realisation that operations have occurred without even so much as a notification to inform us, my people are starting to believe that you see us as unnecessary and unimportant in this struggle. Which would be foolish considering we've fought the powers that be for generations longer than you have, and I myself am older than the Commonwealth.
Erie is your home and this is your campaign to run, nose first and into the ground if you wish. I'm here to help you and express concerns if I have any.
But I don't want to hear you say that I've been flapping my gums - ever again.
I'll have any important recon reports forwarded to you.
