Set up in the "international waters" of the Alsace corridor in October '34, Cayman Research Institute is the Core's newest foray outside their Omicrons heartland.
The station is oriented towards research and high technology experimentation and manufacture, and the location was chosen with this in mind: Like neighboring Oerlikon, the Core intends to study the unusual electrical phenomena present on the gas giant Avers and its moon Ramsen, and has advertised its laboratories to the scientists expelled from the former observatory when it was purchased by GMS.
The region also hosts few major enemies of the Core, allowing for light security measures by their standards, and sits on a trade highway that has only been increasing in importance as the ties between Rheinland and Gallia do, allowing for easy access to resources.
Besides its research focus, the engineers at Cayman have begun small-scale manufacture of specialized advanced technology ship components, utilizing their parent company's access to deep Omicrons alien materials, and the station offers these for sale to any visitors with decent enough relations to the Core and very deep pockets.
CAYMAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE Welcome to Cayman, a research and manufacturing facility owned and operated by the Core, set by the gas giant Avers in the Zurich system to study its unusual properties.
Our station is generally open to neutral parties, and physicists interested in studying the locale may rent our equipment and facilities for their projects. Particularly promising individuals could find employment with our own research team.
In addition to our scientific branch, Cayman operates advanced spacecraft component manufacturing, specializing in capacitors and control systems for next generation equipment based on our proprietary Omicron materials research. We offer simple, unbureaucratic sales to any party of decent standing with a variety of payment plans available, and likewise highly competitive prices for a variety of commonly used "exotic materials" used in their assembly.
As many of these materials may face legal restrictions, we urge our suppliers to inform themselves of and follow local laws as necessary.
