My name is Reyna Cleese, Acting-Secretary of State for the Republic of Malta. I'm contacting you to inform you that your station was located by an Armed Forces patrol and reported to the Department of Defense following standard procedures with unregistered installations. While the Republic does not claim any ownership to Tau-44, it is nonetheless our home, and though your station is flashing an IMG marker, it is registered on neither Crayter's nor our own modular stations registry. As such, we'd like to know the station's purpose, as well as the individuals operating it.

To be clear, this transmission is intended to be a simple handshake, and that the Republic has no intention of offering any challenge to your station's position in Tau-44. Further business will be decided once we know more about your station and your group.

We are not aware of your nation, and are more than a little ambivalent to break words with one's claiming to be of Malta. Ms. Lyons,

I understand your hesitation, especially given the Outcasts' history with the Taus. Officially, we are exiles from Malta, and the rightful government overthrown in a nationalist coup. In practice, however, we are as Maltese as Bretonia or the Order. The Republic is in the process of amending statutes within the constitution to find a rebrand that is more true to our intentions, but this may take some time.
For the time being, I ask your patience and your understanding, and if you have any questions regarding the Republic, I'll do my best to answer them.

As for your station and matters of trade, I'll start by informing you that we'll mark Makassar Station in the Republic's database favorably, given your communication with Crayter and your being part of the IMG.
Trade would be of quite the interest to the Merchant Marine, and we'd welcome whatever opportunities your people would offer our captains, especially given the Republic's state as of now.
At the request of the acting-Secretary of Defense, the Republic would also like to offer our support in any matters you would welcome it in, be it defense, supply, diplomacy, etc.
