Albert McKenzie, Starfliers To: Administration, IMG Subject: Tau-23
Hello, my name is Albert McKenzie. Lead of the Starfliers.
I believe this may be my first message out to the IMG, if not, I find myself contacting you again. I would like to ask about the state of the Tau-23 System. We have a major asset we'd like to bring to the border world systems, to remain there for scientific objectives. Though Tau-23 remains as an alternative in case our primary and secondary locations do not work for us.
I would like to keep this channel open if this needs to be followed up on. It does help to be informed, as we have had to jump through many hoops to learn about the Omegas cluster. This is why we ask about Tau-23. If you require more elaboration, all you have to do is inquire further.
While this may be your first time reaching out to us, it is not the first interaction between the Starfliers and the Guild—but that is beside the point. I am Albert Schulze, one of the Guildmasters of the Independent Miners Guild.
So, you are considering the Taus as a tertiary location to relocate your assets? To be honest, I can’t blame you, given how volatile Tau-23 has been since the Colony Wars. This system was the flashpoint for the war between Kusari and Bretonia, the starting ground of the Gallic invasion, and now remains a contested region bordering both Gallia and Kusari. With the Crown making another attempt to stake its claim—on top of the ever-present Outcasts and the locals from Orkney—instability is simply a fact of life here.
As you may know, the Guild has weathered these storms before and will continue to do so in the future. That said, I have a few questions for you, Mr. McKenzie. What exactly do you intend to study in Tau-23, and who stands to benefit from the Starfliers' research? Our competitors—GMS and BMM—have already encroached in the system, so I would like to understand where your interests align. If the Starfliers do decide to establish yourselves here, the Guild will expect that you will follow our guidelines.
You have mentioned some hoops in the Omegas, in my personal opinion they are a better location then the Taus but then I will need to know more to judge it properly.
With regards
Albert Schulze, Guildmaster

Hello, Albert.
I will admit, the chances of sharing a first name are slim. It feels... weird. But I digress.
When we have an interest in a sector, we usually send out our explorers to try find some points of interest that we can further study. Tau-23 is home to a handful of these, and we wish to bring in the Research Liner Sol (// our player base) to further study these locations. Primarily, we have a significant interest in the "Baxter"-Class Anomalies that frequently spawn in the North-Eastern sectors of the system. This objective benefits us alone at this time, though considering the Guild has a strong presence in the system you may be interested to know of these locations too. Perhaps there is an unknown ingredient or material yet to be discovered?
Our initial plans were to enter the Omegas, however this plan is now void. The local unlawful elements have made it clear they do not want us anywhere near their territory. As of right now, Tau-23 is the last of our options.
This is why I have setup this communication, to know ahead of time the status of the system. We will remain moored on Planet Stuttgart until we have any updates.
