One note- what if it was made more scorp like? Since if the Wilde custom made it with the same tech it should have very strong scorp like elements to it.
I dislike the idea that the Wilde get ships that take away the background of where the person came from. I mean, if I were to have a Wilde, it would be a Rheinland ship for a Rheinland Wild, or a Kusari ship for a Kusari Wilde, and so on and so forth. It just gives the faction a feeling of identity and background, like it's struggling for its existence. I thought that was what the Wilde was trying to do, just scratch by and make their thingie in Omega-58. If I'm wrong, though, a correction would be excellent. >.>
Where this idea came from that everyone and their mother needs their own shipline is beyond me...
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Since people like diversity... personally, me neither I don't really see the need for one - heck, Valkyrie is one of the sexiest FL ship ever. My two attempts to replicate one never came close to it.
oh, no. The Valkyrie cockpit is very easy to immitate. If I wanted I could make one exactly identical or so. The real problem comes to its body, mostly rear. And more terrifying, playing with Rheinland texture.
' Wrote:What's with the hostility, Dopi? I suppose the Wilde deserve their ships, just like any other NPC faction does on Discovery.
That wasn't supposed to come across as hostility, rather as severe confusion.
I think the idea that every NPC faction deserves its own ships is kind of stupid though.
Unioners... ok, makes a little sense, their forefathers being ship builders.
Hessians... they're somewhat rich so ok.
FA... they're poor farmers for pete's sake. It beats me how they know how to fly, let alone build highly sophisticated spacecraft.
Bundschuh... they're pretty much the hipster intellectuals you see in Starbucks with Che Guevara T shirts and Castro style hats. Did their university library have a section on how to build military level combat ships? I highly doubt it.
Gaians... Somewhat like the Bundschuh, except it's the Birkenstock wearing hipsters instead. Bombs? Easy. Ships? Not easy at all.
The way FL used to be balanced was that every faction was checked by at least one other faction. No one was at the top of the food chain, and it was pretty much fair. Now everyone thinks of balancing in terms of my faction vs. their faction. They don't realize that there's a much more complicated system than that, and that they can't just ignore all the other factions while making my faction and your faction perfectly equal. When you do that, it makes it no fun to play because everything depends on skill (basically who pushes the button first) or how many credits (AKA how little of a life) you have. Lame.
I always sorta pictured Wilde Ships being wrecked Rheinland Ships that have had parts reconstructed with parts grown from a Nomad Ship. Sorta like there's a Nomad ship growing inside the Rhienland ship and peeking through the parts of the hull that have been blown open.
It doesn't make much sense to me that Wilde have the capability to build their own new ship line, but then I don't know much about Wilde Roleplay.
