Okay, after badgering Jinx for the last 4 updates about this.. what's the hold up regarding updating these CMPs:
GC Bomber - Headlight hardpoints need changed, they are currently in the engine exhausts. (The texture needs replaced aswell if anyone is up to it)
GC VHF - Jinx did a really great job on this model, but one bug remains with the CM hardpoint. This one is irritating me the most, Jinx said he submitted it so who lost it? Bring me their head! *>.>
Fixing hardpoints is an easy and quick job. Skin of GC bomber is a different matter. This will take a bit longer.
I'll speak to Jinx about. What skin you would like, more Kusari color (KNF, KSP) or more Blood Dragon color? I ask because of taking already existing mat file. This makes a new cmp neccessary so the hardpoints of GC bomber must be set and adjusted anyway.
Jinx said to me that he has updated a few CMP's, the GC VHF for sure and possibly the GC bomber I'm guessing, since I badgered him about it. The biggest problem seems to be to get the CMP's from dev to the bloody mod. The CMP updates are what I'm really pushing for, before these fixes miss ANOTHER update.
About the GC Bomber texture, basically the model has nice shapes, but I don't think the texture shows it off. The biggest problem with it is that it doesnt look like it's from the same shipline as the GC VHF currently.
So, the Civilian(main) bits would be changed to the white panelling like the GC VHF has, and the main detailing (such as the reddish Bretonian bits) would be changed to the terracotta colour the GC VHF has. The wings on the bomber are completely fine, as well as the power core, it looks good as it is.
i had updated file sent in two times - but i think things got messed up in the process. - yes, there are many files sent to igiss and placed as downloads on the dev board - and some simply get overlooked... after all, there re only humans working on placing files into the updates.
about the different faction "bits" - we were told to "please" only make use of generic FL textures to minimize size equalize quality of the ships. - that is why ships often look like a patchwork of different textures ( if you don t look at how they re dyed - which HardCMP cannot show )
i will again check over the GC ships as a whole - and maybe completely retexture them if that is really needed - in a wholesome fashion ( meaning - fighter AND bomber alike so they use the same colours )
but AoM already asked me if he can do the retexturing - so i guess you asked him about it. - so i ll leave it to him - unless he tells me that he doesn t have the time/will to do it himself.

The labelling of the textures in that pic are handy for pointing bits out. Don't retexture the GC VHF, it's perfectly fine, seriously!
I'm not sure of the technicalities of texturing, but wouldn't it be possible to reuse some of the GC VHF textures for the bomber, like the way the GC bomber uses vanilla textures now?
Well, have checked the hardpoints you mentioned. Only bad placed are really the Headlights on the GC bomber.
The others are fine in my pov. At least not on weird positions. To move them elsewhere are rather cosmetics. Jinx already know, where you want them, so i do not touch them.
Concerning the GC bomber skin, i can do what i have suggested, to reskin it with Kusari panels only, including the red Blood Dragon panel. Along this some small little fixes will be made. Have spotted some gaps between meshes and the cockpit misses an interior. Guess you can look through whole model with transparent cockpit glass. I'll reskin it and then you can take a look, if you like. I dunno if it will be ready for final 4.85. Skinning a model not selfmade is a bit harder.

Yep, you're exactly right with the GC bomber. Headlights need moved and that's it. The GC VHF only needed one hardpoint (the CM) moved, but that doesn't mean they should be missed, you know what I mean?
I like the sound of the texture fixing you have planned but, I'm still concerned that the final product won't look much like the GC VHF. I'm sure I heard that textures can be 'dyed', maybe that'd work.
As said, i can do it and if you like, we probably can speak about, giving the GC VHF more Kusari look either.
Ofcourse, if Jinx agrees. Thats just a suggestion. If you want to keep current look of GC VHF at all, i have no problem with.
Part of me screams when you say to change the GC VHF texture, it's really nice..
but
On the other hand, it means we could make the GC shipline share the same texture and therefore the two ships would look more akin to each other, and make 'em both look more like Kusari ships, which fits in roleplay-wise, since the GC would want to 'recycle' as much of current designs as possible to create the ship with limited development resources.
