Base camping is bad, right? Undocking to 5 hostiles who go "aha, another one, engaging" does not make for a fun experience.
As such, one wonders...why do bases not have better defences? Granted, they now have pulse cannons...but that is all they are good at, it seems. Many times have I flown past/fought near a hostile base, and the best they can seem to muster is an instakill of my shields, possibly with some minor scratches on my hull. True, suddenly losing shields is not a good experience, but, it is hardly sufficient to make me think "oh, I won't stay here".
And, to cap it all off, I recently sat next to the GC battleship while GC tagged, and watched 4 hostile Hogosha CSVs almost fully drain my shields before the battleship finally got them...and this is NPCs with no shieldbusters against a battleship...
It does seem that the stationary BSs damage per second was actually REDUCED with the new loadouts, because it used to be that you never went near one because they could drop just about anything in a matter of seconds, which I find quite odd...
It doesn't matter how strong you make the bases. All AI use the same aiming, and can easily be dodged if you know how, particularly slow stationary cannons.
Not only that but the people camping bases probably haven't repped themselves hostile to them either >_>
This is not a good solution to the problem, the only people that will really suffer are the ones who accidentally make a base hostile to them with misfired CDs/Missiles. I can dodge base fire in a cruiser... >_>;

I don't think you can make a base hostile through mis-fired CDs? (at least, it takes ages if you can), and, yes, they are easy to dodge, but, if you have this niggling knowledge in the back of your mind that sitting still=asploding, people may be more inclined to keep distance...
base defence should be much stronger.
hostile bases should be scary. you should be smashed instantly.
no matter how they aiming and how they can be dodged, they should have extreme firepower.
tradelanes and gates are ok, but bases are too weak. how can you have a hope to survive if you come close to hostile base? big warships can stand against base, but small ships should have no hope. all other is simple metagaming.
it is odd when someone is sitting at hostile base and farming base owners.
Have you guys tried passing near BS Isis in Minor while hostile to it?Isis rips everything that comes close,except when there is a bunch of npc's nomads,then Isis can't aim them all.
Once 2,3 BH battleships camed to Minor and got close to Toledo.They all got destroyed by Isis.
Well,then Isis had heavy mortars,now they are light mortars,but anyway I think it's strong enough.
