Some of you have noticed =BSG= members sporting a colorful array of faction affiliations. I would like suggestions as to the cheapest and most efficient way to get them all on Planetform. Do we run missions? Kill Gaians till we're blue? or do we have to get Admin help?
I was just thinking of typing you a PM, but considering a LOT of players have most colorful and in a lot of cases totally wrong affiliations, well let's try it this way (at least as I figured).
I won't repeat how to get an affiliation, I've said that a million times.
OK, you got an unwanted affiliation - bugger, how to change? Easy with some work, a bit of patience, perseverance and without killing sprees as those take too much time. No other way than to make the faction who's tag you sport like you a little less and become white (kill them, abort their missions, whatever)
Still with me? Here we go:
beggar's banquet way (no credits required): assume your wanted tag is at the fourth place (fully green - 90%) you have to take it to the second place and make sure that no other faction is fully green (one kill of each full green faction should be enough). That being taken care of, proceed to make the faction you want to loose the tag with like you to neutrality, thus loosing the tag. Be carefull of your rep not to make someone else too friendly. Because you had no other factions fully green, once the tag is lost, you get the desired tag.
Not so easy if the faction is on the red side of the world.
pay the man (may require a few million credits): simply pay your way through a double bribe then go and fail missions for the faction who's tag you want to loose if you didn't loose the tag so far. This saves a lot of time and travel if you got the credits, a double bribe will fix your reps more or less as they should be.
I made one char go Outcasts - Zoners - LSF and another go Outcasts - Order - Outcasts Guard (the guard one was not meant to be Order:lol:but it helped me a lot in realizing the beggar's banquet, more a 'planned assasination chain' among the mollys, rogues and hakers along with the massacre of some 80 Corsairs to make the Order not hate me, but just get them neutral - could have killed Order directly, but the 'Sairs were green because I killed too many BHGs and no Corsairs)
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor
' Wrote:we should probeply kill gians with an entire wing or so, but, why planetform  you can't fly anny cap's or sow with those ID's.:rtfm:
my opinion, get annother faction, something in the navy or sow, that way we can fly all we want;)
Veers out
Planetform ID is used only on our trader and we don't fly cap ships as trader....our fighter and caps have freelancer ID
subject here is tag....
well i have learned two ways of getting tag fast...bribe with few kills...or a lot of kills but free....my chars had outcast tags before i started....
with screwed reputation try to make as more as possible faction neutral....after that try to bribe desired faction and kill few enemies...within one or two hours (in fighter) u can have any tag u want....
I believe Nightfall's advise is what we should follow in this case. My trader is all the way green with Planetform, but I have a Bounty Hunter tag, so I will go fail a few missions with BHG and I should be straight.
The rest of =BSG= should kill Gaians until they are totally green with Planetform and then go fail missions for whosever tag they show.
destroy there emamys depos that causes there standing with you to drop like a stone while your standing with the faction you whant to go up with will shoot up

...em... not always. This works well when you're just starting out, and want to totally trash your rep w/ a faction..
..but use caution when blowin' up depots.. carve off a small chunk at a time, and check rep frequently..
otherwise, you might end up w/ some off-the-wall, unwanted rep in first slot again.
Ok my trader did well with dumping BHG tags and he's set.
We have two problem characters though, Warhammer and Lham's cruiser. They carry Navy tags which is close enough to the planetform rep that what you do to one effects the other. Am I right in saying they should drop both reps to white, then bribe PF or kill Gaians?
My opinion on this is somewhat simple but not quite in line with the Presidents views.
Military vessels of the BSG are required to carry FL IDs and have Planetform affiliation. Good and fine.
Civ vessels of the BSG are required to carry PF IDs. Good but should not need to sport planetform affiliation. They are civilian vessels and allowed to trade throughtout Sirius and so long as their affiliation is not unlawful, it should be ok.
This is just my personal opinion and not BSG policy.
