I will be direct. Lately, it can be seen that there are frictions in between Order and BHG players going outside of gaming borders and RP, even personalizing at certain points.
Please don't.
This is a game that you basicly send red / blue / yellow vertical lines to a triangular shape moving around on screen. Please try to remember that.
The BHG | Order you are playing are also players like you, sitting behind a screen, also being members of other factions with daily lives and friends. They are normal people, not really Hunters or Order pilots. You don't need any vendetta out of RP.
I am sadly observing this tension slowly building up in between players, and once again, as a member of several factions, reminding you;
THIS IS A GAME.Don't take it personal. Don't make it personal.
Eh what? There's tension between our two factions? I haven't seen any of this - we just come in every now and again and wipe your forces out in exchange for Zapp's credits. Can't tell any real animosity here in the BHG|; sure, we criticize or mock your flying every now and again, but there's no personal dislike behind it.
*Jon shrugs.* I, at least, bear you no ill will, and I doubt any other BHG| really does.

Dear Zig;
Please re-read what wrote under an OORP topic and try to decide yourself if it would create a "distaste" within other players. You may be well aware of what you are writing and how they sound to you but it doesn't sound "like that" to others. Same applies for all Order people.
And this is not a topic I created seldomly on my own, it was an outcome of dialogues with BHG and admin people as well as Order.

Thank you for your input.
Fair enough, thanks for the equinanimous answer. I try to be as honest as I can when a perceived problem like this one arises; if there's tension between our two factions, I have to assume it results due to a PvP-related conflict, as that's mainly what encounters between the BHG| and Order consist of. As such, I need to paint an accurate picture of how I as a BHG| member discuss you with the other BHG| and relate to you. From what I can tell, we occasionally make fun of your flying. This is true, and I need to point that out for the sake of accuracy. As this is the only root to any possible difficulty we might be having that I can tell, given that I've already said that none of us seem to bear the actual players behind Order characters any ill will, I decided to write that down and gauge the Order's reaction to it, to see if that's what's underlying the problem you point out. Beyond our incursions into Omicron Minor, I genuinely don't see cause for dislike between us.
Sadly, not every player has the same experience of life / gaming and level of responsibility. At such times where we feel a crack will happen, it is up to us, elder / responsible / leader / acknowledged (etc) players to point out the problem and resolve it with minimum collateral damage to the community.
This topic does not seldomly cover Order| or BHG|Core etc. It covers all Order | BHG players.
PvP defeats or humiliations may be a cause to some, true that it is a powerful fact on some players as far as I have observed. But I also observed winning sides (both Order and Hunters I have seen in game) push it to the real edge, passing like spikes of the RP and doing this intentionally. I cannot give any names and the aim of this topic is not to do so in the first place but to be constructive.
Yes, it's just a game. But when we see 2 BHG BS coming to Delta, talking to my lonely LF and said "Come on, fight like a real men"... It's hard to avoid some "anger" against this faction. I don't count the PvPwhores and the capwhores I saw many times... But well, i try to read all of this as a game and in a RP way. But sometimes... It's hard.:)
Wars in Discovery cause tension between players. That is a fact of the server. There are plenty of examples I can think of.
There are some tensions - but they are not entirely between members of the BHG and Order factions. I think that what occasionally happens is that random BHG players (non faction) park their battleships in Toledo orbit. This makes forays by our faction look like part of an ongoing series of relentless attacks. I make no apologies for raids by the BHG into Minor (or Gamma for that matter - so long as the dock-camping and random attacks on us continue...but that's all part of the fun, isn't it?)
On the flip side, I don't expect even odds on these attacks (in fact I'd prefer if the Order players were alerted in advance of an attack so they can organise a defence...not always, but when something big is going to happen)
By all means, announce that you are mobilising your entire fleet to force intruders out. But saying "spam everything" or making remarks about our motives as players in game just sounds unimaginative. I know there are many Order ships flown by people who have a pretty uncertain understanding of the rules. The factions should be showing the way.
What I would hope not to see again is players (faction and non faction) spouting oorp talk of any kind whatsoever in system chat. Even if the other player is flagrantly breaking the rules. If it is radically affecting gameplay, I think all players should make it their business to alert the rule-breaker...in private chat. Or with guns.
Remarks about player ability in combat? Well, you live and learn. It's a RP server, but PvP is an important element of it. The factions, it should be remembered, are at war. People should be good sports about losing. More importantly, I think people should experience both sides of this war. I was in Bs, briefly, but I left because, honestly, nothing ever happened in Minor. Now at least there is war. Not much of a consolation though, is it?
One last thing - I ve heard the word "Coward" shouted by people of both sides at players who run from seven to one odds. That aint cowardice. It's good RP. But the word "coward" is just plain annoying. It actually translates as "I want my blue message" and reflects poorly on the person saying it.
I hope the lines of communication are always open here, and I think Rand deserves kudos for being so willing to pre empt any serious nonsense.
And folks the kudos thread should be filled with remarks form both sides, because it has been a lot of fun playing out there. We have one of the biggest events operating twice weekly now, where ships of every class get involved. Who would have thought those cap ships were so cool?
Agreed. Understand the major rules before making your own rules within those rules i say. I never really did like the idea of recruiting people into factions who don't understand the rules.

I think differently on this one. I think an inclusive, open-door policy is a good way of educating new players. As part of a group in game or in skype, if there are any problems they can be sorted out immediately. Everyone makes mistakes. In fact, I think everyone is at least entitled to make one, because you never learn anything otherwise. Apart from reading the rules, the best way to really learn them is to play the game. I know getting informed of rule breaking can be an abrasive experience, but there is a steep learning curve on Discovery. I dont think anyone here knows all the rules off by heart.
