****** *******, fleet callsign "**********", son of ******* and *****, ******* ****** being one of the 44th squad's pilots, is a Colonial of originally Bretonian origin, although born on one of the Colonial battleships, and raised for the most of his life in the Taus.
From a very young age he displayed extraordinary abilities and intelligence, and that got him a lot in the long run.
His parents had great plans for him, but he did not go by the book, he made his own fate throughout his life so far.
****** finished law school, and was heading for a shiny, but boring, career.
But that did not prove to be quite exhilarating enough for him.
And like any deluded young man of his era, he decided to pursue the noble ideals of serving in the Colonial fleet.
He enrolled in the military, went to war college for three years where he finished top of his class, and underwent a year-long training where he really showed he had the chops, with his instructors left jaw-dropped at the speed at which he learned.
His first assignment was a rather menial one, he was stationed in the defense garrison in Tau 23, mostly patrols, trade escorts, nothing too big.
He was a bit disillusioned with his career, but decided to make the best of it.
And indeed he has.
While he was still in his Lieutenant rank, 28 years of age, he was involved in a rather unorthodox incident on a routine patrol in Tau 23.
The Outcast pirates, who grew bolder day by day, raided a Colonial convoy.
Being part of a relatively small escort, along with just one other Nyx pilot, ****** did not stand much chance.
The other escort pilot was downed in a matter of seconds, being caught by surprise by the pirates. Yet he used his smarts and skill to his advantage, and by some wonder, he managed to hold off the Outcasts, destroying three of their fighters, while the convoy escaped.
Then, with half his systems on critical, he managed to broadcast a distress signal to the 44th Battlegroup, and dodged on afterburn all the way towards it's battleship headquarters.
An alert wing was dispatched to his location, and the pirates mopped up. It turned out also, that one of the dead pirates was a rather high ranked Colonel in the Outcast forces.
This made the victory ever much sweeter.
This event really served towards himself getting noticed, and he was, in a few days, promoted to the rank of Captain and decorated with a Medal of Valor.
With his new position, he was assigned to a more.. eventful assignment. He was assigned the position of the Commander of Air Group for the Rubicon, and was regularly sent on countless perilous assignments throughout the area of the Tau systems, where he continued to prove himself time after time.
It was obvious to everyone that the man was headed for a sparkling career in the fleet.
After two years, at the age of 30, he was once more promoted to the rank of Major, after a series of splendid performances in a group of recon assignments beyond enemy lines, where he was even captured by Outcast pirates.
He somehow managed to get away from his captors on planet Malta, stealing a Sabre and escaping back to Tau 44 with the data that he retrieved on the assignment.
Unfortunately the Sabre was damaged beyond repair and when critical systems malfunctioned in Tau 23, he was forced to eject and wait to get his pod picked up by a friendly patrol. It could've served a good purpose in getting to know the works of the enemy's vessels, but at least the info was retrieved, however significant or insignificant it may have been.
At the age of 31, it was obvious to the brass that the man deserved even further responsibility and acknowledgment, as he was not your everyday Colonial.
As is the standard procedure, one day he got a letter bearing the seal of the president, in which was stated how he was drafted for the Colonial Intelligence Service, and that his fabricated death would be performed soon. Shortly after that, an incident was artificially caused in which his ship got destroyed and he was declared K.I.A.
He was assigned to the semi-secret Colonial Intelligence Service organization, more precisely, the 205th Tactical Squadron of the Colonial Intelligence Service, where his codename was changed to "Repenter", for security purposes of any of his report transmissions being compromised, so his identity would not be revealed to any enemies or possible spies within the Colonial Republic.
He did not undergo much training, besides some special E&G(Espionage and Guile) training, because he had more than enough experience for such a duty.
His first post was the Battleship Hood, where he collected countless information on nearby Bretonian territories while under the guise of partaking in various racing events in Bretonia. It is also rumored that he acquired quite a sum of money whilst competing on the raceway.
He also participated in a few deep space reconnaissance missions which mostly turned out to have been successful.
Nothing too eventful happened in that part of his career, but he kept a clean nose, and input very good performances throughout his time serving under Commander Rowan, the commanding officer of the 205th at that time.
After two more years of steady performance there, he was assigned the position of the leader of the 205th, and promoted to the rank of Commander, after the unfortunate and untimely death of Commander Rowan at the hand of a Bretonian counterespionage agent.
Things were definitely becoming more interesting for Repenter. Who'd know where his life might take him further..
