I just flew across Omicron Beta with my buddy. We were in formation. Then docked the Sigma-19 jump hole and ... BANG! ... my ship got blown up and I got disconnected from the server. My fiend said that his ship way destroyed the same way yesterday (he thought it was his PC). I hope that devs can fix that.

:(My expensive Novas, nukes... all gone.

yeah. All OC and smugglers know it's a bad idea to go through the beta-19 JH in formation.

its always been like that.

Yeah, that is a Freelancer bug. It's not related to this jumphole.
Jumping while in formation sometimes causes this...don't jump in formation.

I've had it happen when not in formation as well. I think someone said it had something to do with lag, and the sun.

That's odd. I never died from a formation jump realy, and I don't jump any other way. (Just about)

I remember reading somewhere here that somebody (probably Cannon) mentioned that when you jump, you don't actually spawn at the gate, but on the other side of the system. And then the game speedmoves you through the system to the gate. That would probably explain the lag and sun thing. Passing through the sun, lagging, you stick around inside the star for too long, and Ka-Poof!

That could fit. I've lagged out in jumpholes and F1'd, come back and I'm in the system I jumped too, but at the location of the jumphole in the first system.

Actually, to make things even more interesting, the place where you appear at first after jumping into a system is quite often its sun. When the flhook .beam command was a bit buggy in the older versions, this could cause some unpleasant surprises for the user...
