OOC: For all who were there and, of course, the SF and any of those who helped/will help with the aftermath..please feel free to post here.
Ember entered the Cambridge system. In the distance she could see the beautiful blue planet; slowly spinning and ripe for destruction. A wicked smile came over her face. Though this would be the last time she flew as a Phantom, she would make them proud.
She checked the comm channels. The =BSG= were systems away and no SF were patrolling. By the time an SOS was sent, they'd be powerless to stop her. Not too many more in the sytem that could stop her. An [IND] raven...bah...a couple of friendlies, a SiN|Tech Liberty Carrier and the Liberty Dreadnought Interceptor.
No matter. She need not fight to kill them, they could be dealt by her brothers at another time. Her one target was Cambridge.
Within 4 k of the planet she was engaged by SiN|Tech's Superior. Hull damage was enough to make him turn around. As expected, he sent an automated distress beacon to all who were close enough to come to Cambridge's defenses.
That made here smile. They'd get here just in time to watch the bomb be denonated on this lovely planet of theirs. All the better if they targeted her cruiser as she entered the atmosphere.
Within 2 k of the planet the [IND] raven claw tried its best to distract her. He led her into the Interceptors' lasers. The first BSG had made it's way to Planet Cambridge. She lingered a little while longer to give the others time to make it there. She wanted them to see what their complacency would do to the millions of innocents planetside.
It was time. They were doing a fine job taking her ship down. It would make it easier to enter the atmoshpere and detonate the glorious MOX bomb.
She turned her Talarca toward Cambridge. The smile on her face grew wider. She started laughing at the ships' warning, "Danger, entering atmoshpere!"
I'd just landed my freighter, Aedos, about an hour before the attack. I sold my cargo, then decided to save a few credits by taking a nap in my ship instead of in a hotel. The radiation shields on my ship probably saved my life.
The next thing I knew, I woke up to alarms blasting my ears, and when I looked outside I saw bodies everywhere, both dead and the dying. I'll never forget the screaming...I could even hear it inside the thick hull of my freighter. To my eternal shame, my very first reaction was to take off and get into space, to save my own skin. Once there, I found a number of BSG ships in the middle of a rescue operation, and I realized that I'd already wasted time. As fast as I could, I headed back down to the surface and picked up as many survivors as I could. The worst part was that I couldn't fit them all... I had to turn some away. Once back in space, I joined a BSG-organized convoy to evacuate survivors to Corfu base in Omicron Theta.
I don't know much about the BSG, but as far as I am concerned, they are heroes today.
Many parts of the western hemisphere of planet Cambridge looked like a scene right out of Hell. The toxin clouds covered everything with a greenish fog, the cities and towns were empty save for the dead, and at the blast site were burning buildings, molten metals, and blue lighting discharging from the energized sky.
On the ground below, HazMat teams worked to clear the irradiated zone of the poisons. SiN Tech and SF, assisted by BSG volunteers, worked in the countryside and towns. The main city was closed off however. SiN Tech had established a warning barrier where they said the radiation was too high to work. Shapes moved in that fog though, and every so often a SiN Tech transport would drive in and out of the zone.
The reason for this risky venture was simple; the Phantom ship had crashed within those bounds. The SiN Tech HazMat teams were scavenging everything they could from the bits of wreckage. They even found a good portion of the bridge still somewhat intact. Entering the stuffy chunk, a four-man team from SiN Tech began to search the ruined command deck.
Blasted optronics, twisted metal, a pair of charred beyond any help corpses; everything of value seemed to have been burnt up in the crash. Until, that is, they found Her.
Still alive, against all odds, was Ember herself. Deathly wounded, most of her skin had been flayed off and the rest was burnt. The four stood over her with their lamps only for a moment before two ran to get a stretcher. Ember fought back to consciousness for a moment, to find herself being carried on a medical stretcher, four people in some kind of protective suits around her. One looked down and saw her try to rise. A gloved hand reached down and pushed her gently back.
"Don't worry miss... We're here to help you." The confusion of that statement echoed back in Embers' mind. Help her? Why would these people help her? Perhaps they thought she was a victim of the attack, and not the one who caused it. As she slid back into blackness, Ember decided to play along for a bit. Perhaps her last flight wouldn't be so last after all.
The pilot of Colonial One verified docking clamps were set at Corfu and walked back into the cabin. 150 survivers with nothing but the shirts on their backs. The faces...this is familiar to me. Numb fear subsiding into exhaustion. Presidential Aids were serving drinks and sandwiches. He saw the President kneeling with a man, talking to him.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the Zoners here have agreed to give us refuge here while we contact the Bretonian government. I ask that everyone remain on board Colonial One because this is a dangerous station."
The president stood up and gave the pilot a look, the both of them went forward into the cockpit.
"Get me a secure signal, I need to find out more about Sintech."
I just heard about this atrocity mates, and I know that SF and the guys I run with havent been always great, but if you guys need anything...I'll station myself around.
Yorktown Out.

Dammit My Lord, we tried to take this planet, and we fell short, now some Frau off her rocker takes our little political target, just when we started mutating some of those Bretonians....makes me sick that she can waltz in there and steal our thunder with a MOX bomb.
Only one place she could have gotten that much MOX and that is AEGIS. Now since the junkers signed a defensive agreement with the LH, the LR, the Molly's and Bretonia, and AEGIS works for the LH, wher does that put us in all this. Do we condemn the actions of Caylith since the Bretonians are on our side now, or do we say YAY and take this oppurtunity to overrun Cambridge?

Aemon Yorktown glided his raider's freighter smoothly into Rochester. It was a quiet day, the Xenos probably weren't feeling suicidal. Yorktown got out, sidestepping the Nomad brains in his Cargo bay. Despite being stored in protective biohazard casing, being near those things still freaked him out.
He was supposed to run a fast one with his partner, who disappeared on Fortleza. Despite being a good pilot, it took a toll on his nerves. The Rochester bar wasn't half as good as the Manhattan bar, but at least he could talk to people there.
Normally, there was a game of craps with rigged dice, run obviously by the Junkers, or Texas Hold-em, but today was quiet. Yorktown walked into the bar, where Pete, the bartender, and the entire room was crowded around Pete's dinky little tellavishan(as they called it).
"Pete, mate, " muttered Yorktown, "quit lookin' at those 5c lassies and pour me a scotch."
Pete just turned around and gave Yorktown a look. Apparently, the Junker base wasn't quiet just because the Xenos weren't feeling suicidal.
Yorktown thought. He had missed something
The Tellavishan began humming and and began smoking.
"DAMN IT!" cried Pete, "I'm gonna kill that sucker for selling me dis Nomad Artifact..."
"Pete," said Yorktown, "the Scotch..." He studied his pocket calculator, and punched a few numbers in.
Pete sighed and waved his hand at Yorktown. "Yous from Bretland, eh, Yaukton?"
"Aye," said Yorktown without looking up.
"What part yous from?" Pete had not moved from in front of the tellavishan.
"If I tell you, will you get me my feckin' scotch?" Yorktown looked up.
"Hey, buddy," Pete growled, "I likes ya, and you my buddy, but when I try to be sincere and carin' you shout at me..."
"Pete, get speech lessons." Yorktown picked up the calculator, stood and held it closer to the light.
"CAMBRIDGE got suface wiped by a MOXer dis mornin'!" Pete looked like he was going to explode.
A shadow, cut across the floor of the bar... A shadow cut across a green field...
The people in the bar jumped from the inexpected "clack". Two little girls in the field vanished, forever.
Yorktown's calculator lay on the floor.
To be continued...

Doctor Jeff Kerrigan got the news as he was taking his morning break. With his break cut short, he went to the medical administration department aboard the SFMF-Horizon. His first news was to send an emergency message to the three other medical ships in Bretonia, and also to the DSMC. Millions needed to be cared for, and he had to provide it. He got the emergency department together, and briefed them as they began preparations for the aid. Within days they would be there, and would have to be prepared, although his medical crew had seen enough of the Phantom attacks to know what it was going to be like. Still, everyone could get overwhelmed.
---
Following a few days of travel, the Horizon entered Cambridge. Immediately, comm traffic from all over the system ignited in his ears. Only one major medical vessel had arrived before the Horizon. We're going to be in for a lot of work until the rest get here, he thought. The ship entered the tradelane, and upon exiting, the forward view screen showed the most massive destruction that he had ever seen. Ships flew around scanning him and requesting assistance. He ignored the traffic as the Horizon turned towards the planet, and it was there that Doctor Kerrigan saw the destruction that he had never seen before, and never wanted to see again.
Hype
Retired A very big thanks to Dark Oddity who put my signature pic together
The Bomber lands on the far side of Cambridge, a landing ramp is let down, 3 helmeted figures walk down it, a large container follows them. For a second light flashes off the rank and name badges on the Environmental Suit. Olsav on the first figure, Model on the second, and Kozanecki on the third. Each pilot starts dismantling the container, transforming it into a small command module/habitat. After its is set up, Olsav sets up a small homing beacon near the site. It gives off a small beep every few seconds. Then Olsav beckons the other men to help him. He goes back into the hold and they wheel out what appears to be a small hovership, for scouting.
Inside the craft, Model asks Olsav "Admiral why are we on the planet, there will be few survivors to be found, even on the far side, not quite as affected by the blast. Verginix never answered your comm message, we dont have authorization to land."
Olsav replies "For now the second time in my life i will choose to go against the law of my fleet. When Verginix infected the planet, i had no qualms, i took my transformation to helghast easily when i started piloting, and the Bretonians would too. But this MOX bomb was awful, civilians, soldiers, most life itself was destroyed. I do not believe in the use of such indiscrimitory force."
To Kozanecki he says "We will circle back and let you off at the ship, contact our Junker associate Darby, tell him to bring 240 units of Pharmaceuticals, 300 of Synth Paste, and 600 of Water. Also signal any Helghast ships in the area, and ask them to redevous here to discuss our plan of action. Try and get Leiutenant McNeo"
Kozanecki: "At once sir"
They let Kozanecki off, and Olsav the starts the scout craft scanner on the surrounding area to a distance of 5km. I searches for traces of life, and in thhe distant corner 10-12 bright dots appear, on the spot where the town of Hamilton had stood before the MOX bomb.
Olsav "This wil lbe our first test to see if the Bretonians truly will accept help even from us."
Later in the habitat, after taking the Bretonian survivors bakc and giving them limited anti radiation therapy, Olsav sits by the comm station:

From Olsav
I am sending this to inform you that i have taken action on cambridge even without a response from you. I feel it is a moral obligation to help the citizens of Cambridge at this time. Even with our history of fighting them and tryin g to convert them to Helghast, never have we used a weapon so vile and crude as this MOX bomb to destroy everything. I have set up a base at coordinates 56o86o. I have sent out a signal to all Helghast ships i nthe area to help my crew and I. I feel that after this disaster and in light of our current pact against the enemy of Bretonia the Kusari that it was a prudent and morally responsible action.
I await your judgement, however i am truly loyal as always to the helghast.
