May someone tell me, how exactly reputation is supposed to work?
For the starting i thought I take a Merc ID and act truely neutral; unless someone pays me. Then I mentioned (by other players greeting me as Ageia Merc) that the highest Rep. is also shown and that other players see it as my faction. As you may guess, as a beginner I've done many missions for State Police etc. so I was high-green with very many. Now i've done droprep approx. 10 times and still I've a State-Rep.
Is this supposed to work so? Or is there a way to say which of my other high-reputations will be my primary after dropping?
Is it, within this rep-system, possible to play a truely neutral Merc, who may assist pirates as well as States and companies, only depending on who pays me & reputation?
Is it possible to pin one as primary faction or am I really supposed to make only missions for that one faction? That would make IDs like Merc very useless imho.
Thanks in advance,
Xithar
Yes, that I mentioned yesterday. But may I select it in any way or must I do droprep till I reach a more neutral one? This gets really expensive with 350k per droprep.
If you want to be a truly neutral Merc. you will need a Freelancer tag.
It can be obtained in Coronado at Barrier Gate Docking Wing Base.
Before you buy this tag, you should try to drop your friendly factions to neutral, so that when you obtain the Freelancer bribe it will be selected as your main reputation.
You will need a double bribe, this means you must buy a Freelancer bribe from two persons in the bar same time.
All you have to do is to wait for two person with the same bribe in the bar and apply to both.
Do not buy from a single person, otherwise when you already are friendly with the Freelancers the second person will never appear.
Well, the manual way to drop rep is drop missions of the faction over and over and over again. The other option is to shoot the faction you want to lose rep with, but that affects other reps. If you find it expensive I recommend you get a bigger trading ship.
Merc ID with Freelancer Faction sounds indeed very neutral.
Thanks, mission dropping and double bribing are very good ideas. Killing NPC I tried, but I guess they are hiding from me.. *evil grin*
