Civillians

I think we need to add some independent civilian NPCs to the game. (Maybe a Civillian faction?) All you ever see is commercial transports and military convoys flying around the lanes. What about Average Joe, flying his starflier over to the station to pick up his Garbage Hauler.. or Mom flying the kids to the Soccer Game on a different planet..

I just think it would add some depth (And some fun.. :nyam:) if we had average Joe civillians flying around the trade lanes.

Space flight isn't meant to be something that's cheap or inexpensive.

It would be good to see more independant haulers though. Freelancer's economy seems very..loose after all.

I dont see why a Civilian should be in the Space. THey have everything they need on their Planets. There is Spa and Cruise for bringing them to other Planets. Think, a ship costs much, i know we have all millions of Credits, but a normal person on a Planet doesnt have a Million for a light fighter.

What we should need is something like a Space Bus bringing people to other Planets or Stations. And that should be already expensive enough.

Also Space is dangerous. All those terrorists and pirates.

It's my belief that credits are an entirely separate form of currency compared to whatever they use on planet. I mean, you can buy military vehicles for a few hundred credits. My guess would be 1 credit = $1000, or thereabouts.

Edison Trent, in the single player campaign before he joined up with the LSF, was a civilian pilot. Read back through the logs, he saved up enough money to buy himself a ship, left leeds and started trading around Sirius, found lonnigan and was gonna strike that deal for a million credits worth of boron before FP7 was destroyed.

There was also that guy in the patriot that you pull over early on, when you're trying to find the artifact smugglers. He wasnt aligned with anyone either.

I'm sure there's more examples that I cant think of right now =P

There's that one little Renzo-corp ship, I think a Homeworld import, which the infocard says is a small, comfortable ship designed for personal transport of executives and whatnot from planet to planet, like for commuting.

Even if credits are a seperate money, surely rich families and bussinessmen would go into space?
