So, I'm looking into PDA's / Pocket PC's to find out their functions, price range, and whether or not one would be worth my money. I have really no idea about where to start, besides eBay, so I'm wondering if any of you own one or know of one that's below about $100 and has... cool features. I guess WiFi and Bluetooth might be standard. I like email access, I heard they have that. I think I saw a couple have GPS, which would be WAY awesome because I need a GPS and this might be my excuse to get one.
So.. any suggestions, advice or whatnot. Even a brandname or model suggestion would be nice.
Oh, I DON'T want phone capablities. I will use this by no means to talk to somebody. (Unless of course it's over the internet or something... who knows. Do they have texting only PDA's?)
If you want something with email, wifi, bluetooth, GPS, etc., you'll likely have to pay more than $100. I personally own a T-Mobile G1 and I am very happy with it. I bought it the night it came out so it cost me ~$400, but the price has dropped and you can probably get one for about $200 if you look hard enough. The downside of getting a PDA like the T-Mobile G1/iPhone/Blackberry Storm/Palm Pre is that normally you have to buy a voice+data plan for them in order to get the features like GPS and always-on-email. You could theoretically just get a data plan without the phone plan and get all the features that you listed, but most carriers (if not all) do not allow you to get a data plan without a voice plan. If you were able to get this, there is a Skype app for the G1 that allows you to call other Skypers and phones as well. If you want one of the PDAs that I listed above - T-Mobile G1/iPhone/Blackberry Storm/Palm Pre - then I suggest you get one without any kind of plan. You'll have to jump through a few hoops in order to do it, but it's not too hard. On second thought, if you want a hassle-free device you could just go for the iPod touch - it's got email, bluetooth, wifi, internet, but no GPS. As far as general PDAs go Palm has some good models, but that's about all I can think of right now. I rambled on a bit, but hopefully some of this helps:)
