Ok, a killboard for our purposes will be defined here as something that can, through a web-based interface, store and retrieve the kills and losses for individual players. Ideally it can store the value of the items on the ship and information such as the time of the event and the system.

I want to ask a question. Could a server-side script be written that updates a killboard? I can think 2 ways to do the kb.
  1. Server side, a script monitors the global chat for deaths and parses them
  2. A client side program scans the game client screen for death messages, parses them, and contacts the server
Then we would need a web based portal such as this: http://killboard.caldarimilitia.org/?a=pil...mp;plt_id=39335

And then here are the RP benefits:
  • You can be more ruthless......"I've killed 96 men" is pretty threatening especially when its backed up.
  • It gives people a sense that their kills are worth something.
And here are the personal benefits:
  1. You can see if your getting better at pvp in hard facts
  2. You don't have to take a screenshot to prove a point in a sanction
To integrate it into RP it would have to be on this forum in the Roleplay section.
What do you think?

If it will encourage PvPwhores (which it will), a rather large NO

Also, it is what message dumps and faction bounty threads are for *points at the corsair one*

on an RP server, this serves no purpose except to extend the e-peens of pvp whores. for that reason, i shoot this idea down. plus, if people DO want to show off how good they are, they have screenshots. most people i know now mash the screenshot button so often due to fear of breaking a rule, they have most of their kills recorded either way.

That is pretty big. I have no choice to but agree.

Just use your fighter killed and freighter killed numbers in the reputation thing if you want numbers.

Yes it includes NPCs but in RP, they are all people.

No, I mean in eve there is a point to it as when you kill someone they loose their ship.

But whats to stop you just killing a friend over and over to just stat whore? In much the same way that a lot of km's used to be faked.
