Hypocrisy

I am sooo tired of people digging for ways to be offended. I come on the forum to keep up with rule changes, current RP events and mod development. I HATE reading the "Look who I am mad at today and let's all find a way to crucify the people doing what I don't like" threads.

People who use capital ships ruin the game.
Fighter and bomber pilots ruin the game.
People using missiles ruin the game.
People using bats and bots ruin the game.
People who fight ruin the game.
People who don't fight ruin the game.
People who don't say "hi" ruin the game.
...ad naseum.

It all comes down (usually) to this: "I don't like what they do and want to slap them."

Can't we all get along? We have bats and bots and caps and all the other stuff someone will get offended with. It's part of the game. Can we try to find creativce ways IN-GAME to adapt and respond (that "role play" thing I hear a lot about but don't always see being practiced). Please don't ask for more bans, more nerfs, more rules, more sanctions and more regulations and don't post every negative feeling you have under the guise of "game suggestions".

I love to see positive and constructive suggestions but these regurgitated topics used as a pretense to simply vent our anger isn't much good for anyone. real issues come up but its the constant using of personal issues to try to redefine the game that's annoying.

Peace and Love Brothers and Sisters. (No offense on the bot/bat suggestion but the "lets get rid of bots/bats" is an golden oldie and got me thinking--its not the point of this sorry to use it as a springboard.)

I agree, when it all comes down to it, this is just a form of escapism, a game. A place where we can just chill out for a couple hours and play a life that could have been. As Rudo says, lets try to better ourselves and by doing that, better the whole server in RP. Let's look at ourselves and our actions before we begin inevitably pointing fingers.

There's the same going on in-game. Many people just there to try to insult others, hidding it as RP, or to kill others, hidding it also as RP....

@ Tinkerbell: I'm upset that you're upset Tink. Just take note that I don't initiate threads much ... I usually only respond to them. And I only get ticked off when its the people who create threads for reasons you've listed. So ... I do hope you're not directing this thread toward myself due to that bats/bots thread ... I DID NOT CREATE IT. I only responded to it ... and for the most part could care less whether people used bats and bots in combat ... cause I usually avoid combat. Only thing that really annoys me is when people continually post anti-pirate threads.

It's like looking at Bizzarro Rudo, who rather than being burnt out and cynical and caustic is apple-cheeked, bright-eyed and optimistic.

You are ok Baltar--I really didn't want you to think I was speaking about you. I have just heard the "bats and bots are the devil and you suck if you use them" so many times here and on especially on other servers that your comment sparked the memory (and it didn't imply what I said at all) --then it daisy chained in my mind to a lot of the other posts I have seen here on occasion.

I find you to be a fair and balanced player and your comments are usually pretty good. My apologies. This post was directed at the people who aren't sincerely voicing an opinion (as you did) but who are veiling one in order to further an agenda. No offense meant to you at all. I promise to slay several Xenos and Hogosha in your honor and not use bats or bots to do it.
