why it should be MANDATORY to sign up for the forum to play on the server

Alrighty, it should be mandatory to register on the forum in order to play on the server.

1. it lets them know this service exists
   
2. when we refer them to the forum they can't say they dont know
   
3. it grows the active community
   

I bet it will cut down on the OORP issues.

server passwords, mandatory forum sign in - thats all detrimental for the population and newbie friendliness of the server.

veterans leave the server every now and then - to keep the population up - we need new players. ( yes, we do ) - and no one can tell if players not signed up on the forum are better or worse. - unless you provide statistics saying that truly - players ingame that are NOT signed in on the forum are indeed worse at RPing or violate the rules more often than others - there s no foundation to ask for these steps.

it is very important to keep the server as newbie friendly as possible. - so i think it should really stay just an "offer" to sign in to the forum. - some people are simply very reluctant to sign in anything in the internet.

While in principle I may agree with your sentiment, in reality...

This may be a free server, but it is not a free society. It is, at best, a benevolent dictatorship. We as the subjects are upon occasion allowed to voice our displeasures, our needs, our wants, and our desires. As long as the ultimate ruler does not have issues, then you may freely say and state what you wish.

However - and this is something that many people do not understand here even to this day - you do NOT have freedom of speech here. You do NOT have freedom of expression here. (Dictatorship, remember?) And - since it has been stated time and again that Igiss does not wish to do include either a password or require forum membership - well, while he's entitled to change his mind, he still has that title. Creator, dictator, lord high god of Discovery - you can pick it.

So please, tilt against the windmill. Spit into the wind. Pull the mask off the Lone Ranger. Tug on Superman's cape. All are ultimately futile - as is starting this discussion again.

I have to say that some players register themselves on forum, but hardly uses it. They just have it there for style....pity.:(

you cannot enforce it, unless you get some number that you have to enter when creating new char.. which i am not sure is possible

1. A database that anyone can check to see if your character is linked to a forum account.
2. Server password you get when registering, which wont happen.
