For one of the rare times I get in Omicron Gamma, it has been pretty shocking for me, I saw some strange things sometimes in New York, but this, beat everything I've ever seen.
Basically I'm on a "rogue" roleplay with my USI char due to her sister captured by the LSF etc, so karen is trying to get in touch with the order, I wanted to involve something fun and uncommon for the players I'll meet, I decided to discard the OOC Alaska way and the classic kusari path to minor.
Instead I chose to roleplay a jumphole malfunction that sent the ship to the charted system of Omicron Gamma. Even though since I have a Universal ID and IFF, I have expected a suspicious eye from thems, I would have expected thems to keep a neutrality in the mission as it concerns the order.
But no, instead... in less than five minutes my poor guardian was surrounded by more than 5 capships not to mention 4 of thems were unfactioned. To conclude, 5 minutes after I was destroyed because the indies felt trigger happy regardless of any RP attemps I had with thems.
Special gold star to the "k guys gtg to bed bye all" on system chat.
So excuse-me, but I think this really brings something that is needed : capships restriction or atleast, a control on thems. We just can't have 14 years old kids that don't do any effort on their spelling, have a OORP behavior and use lol:)xD me2 in chat and have no knowledge of the faction background.

It's everywhere. Gamma just has a concentration as it seems to be the next stop after people get tired of Liberty.
For good RP experiences: Gamma is as much a place to be wary of as Liberty, with the added benefit of it being polarized to a single faction rather than a mix of lawfuls and unlawfuls.
As a Junker in a salvage frigate I have been shot down by Praefects 5k from Gamma with a load of food simply because "ure red".

I am going to assume you mean having no IFF rather than being simply "independent". I have seen ridiculous behavior from tagged ships as much as I've seen from indies, mine included when I'm not around to yell at people.
I spent some time in Gamma today as a Corsair.
It was an interesting experience, enough sanction material to keep the Admins busy for a while, I think.
I actually felt sick to my stomach afterwards. I haven't played the game since.
Gamma is actually better than New York, it seems. But I am 14, And I RP quite well in my Zoner Juggernaut, thank you. And I do agree with fletcher. There are official factions that lol too, just as indies.
I roleplay a corsair in gamma, a some of the things that Kmiller says are true, BUT there is a little THING about gamma, its just not NY, if a group of corsairs (faction or not) say Jump you must JUMP, or eat hot plasma, Omicrom gamma is pirate system and the laws are behind the guns, if you come with a liberty ship and a story, i personally would hear it, but dont expect to be welcomed or somethig, the most probably thing is i will ask you to leave the sistem once may be twice... (its roleplay, CORSAIRS are not ZONERS not everybody is welcome at O Gamma even if you come with a cargo ship full of food you must gain our trust and obey corsair instructions)
