This is a role-play idea I just came up with. The idea is that I grab a Interspace Commerce ID/IFF'ed transport, and role-play a trading post. I buy anything off of other players - commotities, shields, weapons, exc. and try to sell it to another player for a profit.
Problem is coming up with a ship to do this in. A supertransport would be good for this, but Interspace Commerce has a cargo limit This isn't worth writing up a special request for a barge to start out with.
My other options are the mining ship (overused), GMG miner (requires forum role-play, but plausable), GMG whale (pricy), Yacht (pricy), border worlds transport, and Mammoth. I am leaning towards the mining ship, because of its size and it looks big enough to have something dock on it. What do you think I should use?
I'd think that the IC would have something a bit more flashy than a Mining ship...but it is big enough...and the mining tunnels in the front can be RP'd as docking ports I bet...little grabber arms could take cargo pods or something
depends how big you want it....armored transport would have been my first suggestion but it's rather small
a Yacht would be great, but it's not worth the price for this idea, as it may or may not be worth it
what about the Kusari Yacht?
Problem is with the Kusari Liner is that it's a liner, Interspace Commerce ID does not allow it, I don't think. (IND is allowed liners, though, which is the biggest beef I have with the IND ID)
Yeah, mining ship was my first option. I've heard of one role-played as a carrier, why not a trading post?
IND were using Liners long before they became 'hip' in 4.85 when people discovered their 'amazing' combat capabilities. They were promptly nerf'd. You could possibly obtain a Liner through a Special RP application, as it's not that great a stretch.
