Hey does anyone know what has happened to Lancers Reactor. When you go to lancersreactor.com it brings up a message from the hosting company saying that the account is inactive, and for a few weeks before there was a page sying that it was under new ownership. And before any one says anything about reactorforge that was done with out MetalChaos' permission.
Quote from email:
Hello Everyone,
Lancersreactor is back online, the downloads are being brought back
up and the site is up and running. I do apologize for the trouble this may
have caused some of you. This was an attempt to ruin The Lancers Reactor by
Turion, Azza, Roo-Avery,Bp and pretty much any one associated with
reactorforge, turion demanded that azza redirect lancers to his site and
did so without my permission. TLR is still here and it will remain here. .
unfortunatlety I have life and can't babysit this site. If you wish to
help TLR by all means contact me via the site, I am the only person besides
Ares the moderator. If me owning this site pisses some ppl off, get over
it!
I'm still here, if you don't like don't come around.
to those of you who do care and who do contribute, thank you
your the reason the site still stands.
MentalChaos
Owner of The LancersReactor.
Got that Aug 1 and so I jumped back on to lancersreactor.com (not .org that is the changed url) and the proper page was back up but as the email above says no downloads. It was up for a while and then it changed on day to what looked like the first page of their forums, apart from the fact that there were not posts and it said that there were only 15 registered users, and in the header to the page it said that tlr was under new ownership and would be back up soon.
And now when you go to lancersreactor.com (the proper address) it says account is inactive. Have a look as well.
Hope that tlr is not gone for good.

Agreed. Lancer's Reactor was the top all-around Freelancer site a year ago (and with good reason), but now it's deteriorated due to several events, intentional or otherwise. It's sad, I know, but that's the way it is now. The Starport seems like a pretty good replacement, though. Most (if not all) of the downloads that used to be on TLR can now be found there, and the site and forums are still alive and active, so at least there's that.
Good memories with Lancer's, though...
THEY TOLD ME I COULD BE ANYTHING SO I BECAME A SIGNATURE PLS HLP
The-Starport is better than TLR ever was, there is almost always someone online willing to help, as well as semi-regularly updated and posted tutorials and a vast download database.
What happened there anyway? I know TLR used to be supported by Microsoft. After support was dropped, what happened?
Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits
When Microsoft officially ended support, they contacted the host of the Lancers Reactor site and had it cancelled. Not sure why, as Microsoft weren't paying or anything, they only had the official endorsement. The host just said:
Quote:Oh no, its Microsoft, the end all be all of the internet and the modern world! We better do what they say before they bring out their WMD's!
And thus, the entire Lancers Reactor site died, and they had to start afresh.

I heard there were some power struggles between the admins that tried to keep it up and running though. What was up with that?
