I decided to convert this into a development thread for the entire shipline (why start five separate threads when you already have one that works just fine?). I'll do some reorganizing. New posts and pics will be farther down in the thread instead of this post.

Deiter and I got talking and he said he wanted his own shipline. I figured since the biggest thing in it would be a Gunboat it wouldn't hurt to make a proof-of-concept ship, and the results are, if I do say so myself, rather striking. His exact reaction was:

[6:44:29 PM] dietersmeep: what is it?

The basic idea is, since the Outcasts and the Mandos have always had a pretty right relationship, that in addition to giving their aces Sabres we'd help them design their own shipline using the Borderworlds pattern we're so familiar with.
It should be noted that only the second and fifth ones are truly accurate - Deiter had me change the dimensions of the nose a bit, and I didn't feel like taking a half-dozen new renders. Also, I have no idea how to model cockpits, so it's a working cockpit, if you will.

No. Everything on that ship is meant to reflect a design based on a 'real' MandalMotors ship, so that would be going way off-track, not to mention look ridiculous and require that I reskin half the ship.
Made some small changes to the nose so it looks slightly less duck-like and the tails so that they're more streamlined.

Deal with the ship in a formalistic context, please.

the cockpit is something one needs to "get used to" i guess.
the overall shape is nice and inspired - and its a hell to balance cause its as flat as a pencake. - or so it appears ( since you haven t provided a full front view profile - the most important one when it comes to determine a balance )
its both simplistic and advanced looking - all in all a very nice ship. now i do wonder if the MM have asked igiss about the ship to be included.
when it gets a "fitting hitbox" ( meaning the holes are really holes to shoot through ) - it ll be very hard to hit in a joust - maybe too hard.
when they are made "solid" - it ll be fine to be balanced. - i just noticed on what its shape reminds me ... the zoner gunboat ... a longer and flatter nose of course - but also stubby slightly downwards wings, a long forked "tail" - and a fuselage mid-wing.
