This is a formal apology from the heads of the Vagrant Raiders to all listening. We had an incident in which one of our pilots might have looked a bit "off the charts" in California the day before. One of our men went berserk and was uncontrollable and ended up screaming things that made no sense and finally flying into the Battleship Yukon where his ship was scrapped. Though we managed to salvage his pod before the Navy had the chance.
From our investigation based on the information we recovered from the Sabre's sensor logs, we were able to conclude that this disgrace was due to a malfunctioning CO2 scrubber, and by his own incompetence turned himself into a delusional, irrational pilot. This caused him to commit acts that the Vagrant Raiders would never support in any shape or form.
Though this was a mechanical matter, it's he that should have made sure the ship was fit for flight, and is obviously incapable of coping with the pressure at this time, which necessary to fly under the flag of the Vagrant Raiders. Since I was assigned as his commanding officer for that operation, with the permission of the Vagrant Raiders' leadership, I have decided to strip Lopez of his current rank and ground him from flight for the time being. And again we extend our apology to anyone affected.
