lag has nothing to do with your ping. It's all about the loss/lag. Are you using a wireless connection? That could be the cause.
I get 350-400 ping constantly, but I don't lag that much at all.

It is. Constant 30-40 ftw here.
Though, isn't it just because of the FPS, mr. thread starter? That's what usualy makes stuff jump on my screen.
I'm working with 4GB ram and a 512mb video,I doubt it's a fps problem with the background and 3 NPC's on my screen, but I guess not everybody has that issue, just most.Ah well, working on the getting used to it thing, guess thats what missiles and fast weapons were made for.
Sometimes when I'm doing a mission with my friend, all of the enemy NPCs will shoot off in whatever direction and velocity they were traveling at for a few minutes. I've had them get so far away they only say "Far" instead of an actual distance. Meanwhile, my shields will drop randomly, and my friend will report that I am sitting still in the area getting shot at. After a few minutes it goes away. If I /ping during this, it tells me that everything is normal, like 150-200 ms, but it takes a very long time to respond.
Sometimes when I'm just playing, it has taken over 90 seconds for something I've typed to show up in chat. Very annoying when I'm trying to RP. Anyone know what this may be caused by?
Thanks to MikeyH for the banner.

Well my ping right now is betsee 600-1000. You can pretty much imagine my lag.
I lag out every 2 seconds
Every NPC/person flies around in random directions
Missions fail...
Can't go to any of the dealers on bases due to the laaag :/
