Welcome! If your reading this, then you might be interested or just passing through the pristine Empire of Kusari. This Guide will help you on your business or travels with Kusari, and help ensure that you don't stick out like a tourist.
1. Kusari in General
Kusari or the Kusari Empire (クサリ 帝国 Kusari Teikoku) is the title of one of the four original houses in Sirius. The Kusari is an expansive house, with significant forces holding the four core systems (New Tokyo, Kyushu, Shikoku, Honshu) and claims and patrols to many other lesser systems surrounding them. Kusari influence stretches from the distant Tau-31 system to Sigma-19, effectively occupying the entirety of the known lower northern Sirius sector. Kusari is currently engaged in a war with Bretonia over the sovereignty of the Tau-31 system.
-The Kusari are a very nationalistic and honorable people, if your not Kusari born, expect to face some discrimination, especially from the quisi-lawfuls/unlawfuls.
-Kusari is a vast Empire, currently in a state of war with Bretonia. One of the number one rules in Kusari is to not associate yourself with Bretonians, or face the scrutiny of the Kusari people.
-If your a Trader, Do Not head towards the Taus. There is a Blockade of Trade going in, and out of the Taus, only certain individuals with license, or companies that have paid for trading rights can pass through the Taus unscathed. If you go and get caught, your cargo will be seized, and you will be forced to pay a fine....and that's only with the Lawful forces.
-Bounty Hunters are regulated to Shikoku only. Any bounty hunter ship found anywhere else will be immediately escorted out of Kusari Space. The Kusari don't like foreigners in Kusari, especially foreigners with guns.
-Cruisers and higher (Gunboat, Destroyers, etc) are not allowed in Kusari Space....Expect a lot of yelling, and scrambling of the KSP and KNF is you fly in Kusari Space with a Crusier. Get permission from Kasuri Command first.
Your best friend, (if your a law abiding citizen, otherwise, your worst nightmare) the KNF will gladly assist you in anything, even if its just an escort through the system. Dont be afraid to ask for their help or notify them if any suspicious activity is happening. One of the most honorable pilots in Kusari, its not uncommon for them to fight to the death to preserve the honor of their Emperor and Kusari. In fact, the Imperial Guard [IG] enforces the will of the Emperor. Make sure you stay out of their way.
Kusari State Police
The Kusari State Police (KSP) patrols much of the the core Kusari Systems. If your in any trouble, or just need a quick escort, just ask for them.
Farmers Alliance
Kusari farmers have a grudge against foreign business, especially against Synth Paste, for taking away most of their jobs and livelihoods. If you work for a corporation, stay away from them, they will only be your friends if your Kusari. Remember, Kusari is very isolationist.
Hogosha
Representing the underground of Kusari, don't expect to see them around much, as they work from the shadows. If your happen to run into one, just play cool and ignore them, they (like the Farmers Alliance) just want to protect Kusari. If they interact with you, just do what they say, and they will mostly leave you alone. They can either be your best friend, or your worst enemies. They are a staunch supporter of the Tau Blockade, and expect the KNF or KSP to take their time if your caught by a Hogosha pilot.
Samura Industries
A major industrial complex in Kusari, they control most of the market. Some say they employ questionable tactics to achieve their motives. However, as a lawful corporation, they are still obligated to follow the law. They main influence is in the Kyushu system. They also have many enemies, such as the Blood Dragons and Golden Chrysanthemums.
Kishiro Technologies
Much like Samura, Kishiro also controls a sizable market in Kusari, although still smaller. There main influence is in Honshu. They have a unique relationship with the Gas Miners Guild and unlawfuls of Kusari, as the Blood Dragons do not view Kishiro as monopolistic as Samura
Blood Dragons
One of the major unlawful presences in Kusari, notify the nearest KNF or KSP or if your desperate, Hogosha. They view themselves as the rightful heirs of the Kusari throne, and view outsides with distaste. However, unlike other pirate factions in Sirius, Blood Dragons are notoriously known for their sense of honor...though its not recommended to test it.
Golden Chrysanthemums
A primarily female unlawful presence in Kusari, they are staunch supporters if the Outcasts and have openly declared allies by them. Most GC are addicts of the drug known as Cardimine, a main export of the Outcasts. Thier main objective is to install a Matriarchy in Kusari. If encountered, contact the nearest KNF/KSP officer. Also, be warry of the additional GC factions, such as the Kiretsu, who have a more deeply tied relationship with Outcasts. If encountered, find a place to dock immediately, they have been known to use Outcast Gunships.
Outcasts
Unfortunately, there is an Outcast threat in Kusari, primarily, in the Kyushu system. If encountered, contact your nearest KNF/KSP officer. Do not attempt to engage them as back-up is usually only a jump-hole away for them. Most are unorganized, however, there is at least 2 groups, (\CS\ and the =XTF=) who have a special interest in Kusari
QCP/Mandalorian Mercenaries
Primarily Bretonian employed mercenaries, avoid and notify closest KNF/KSP officer. Both organizations are known for their relentlessness on collecting their targets, even attacking civilians or even zoners. Do not engage and find a safe place to dock.
Colonial Remnant
The Colonial Republic are the descendants of people sent by the Alliance on a scientific/colonization expedition prior to the war between the Alliance and the Coalition. A new addition to the Kusari alliance, this group makes their home in the distant Tau Systems. They have authority to patrol Kyushu.
3. The Do's and Dont's
-Do not offend the Kusari people, especially the KNF/KSP/Hogosha.....they will defend their honor...usually, to the death.
-Outcasts are a threat to Kusari, and they usually don't want to talk, avoid them at all costs.
-Even though the BD/GC want to topple the Kusari Government, they still want to protect Kusari, don't be surprised to see them shoot down a smuggler. However, they are still not your friends.
-Asteriod Fields and jump holes are unsafe, enter at your own risk.
-Bretonia and Kusari are at war, do not travel through the Taus carrying cargo, as both sides strictly enforce the embargo.
-The Gas Miners of the Sigmas are their own ruling, you are under their rules once you enter the Sigma Systems.
-The KNF and KSP are your friends, do not hesitate to contact them.
Hopefully, this little guide will help you ensure a safe and pleasant travel Kusari, and that you will visit again.
Bounty Hunters are allowed in Kusari in ships not bigger than Gunboats.
That means a bounty hunter in a Bomber is allowed to fly through kusari, but not to take action within its borders.
But, if you are in a destroyer or something bigger, you won't be allowed even to fly through there.
