I was puttering around with an idea that might bring some more fun to Disco teamplay...
Basically it's a 'hero' system that is impossible to beat as a Solo player.
The nature of the system forces you to assail it as a faction or team.
Here's what I was thinking:
A smallish system with an asteroid field that only allows fighters to get to the centre but requires capitals and bombers to clear a path from the JG. The NPC fighters in the centre of the system guard a station. The fighters carry huge credit cards.
It might even make sense to make this a Monstar or Phantoms system...
Upon entry to the system, you are greeted with a fleet of NPC Battleships, enough so that a single player BS would easily be defeated.
Once your team defeats those, you have 10 minutes before they spawn again. In this time, your fighters have to get through the asteroids to the middle section and kill as many NPC's as they can. Obviously the NPC's drop nice rewards so the whole outing is justified.
The NPC's spawn every 15 minutes or so and don't drop bats or bots. They are tough as hell so that you need more than 2 players in the fight.
I suggest a spawning station just outside the entry system JH/JG for re-enforcement.
Add a few JG from different sectors and you might have some inter-faction chaos thrown into the mix...
RP Justification:
The system is terrorist owned and there are bounties out on the heads of the pilots.
It's kinda like a raid in other MMPORGs but gives factions practice at teamwork etc.
the spawning timing cannot be done.. and all and all i would like to see improvement in the bar missions system.. like knowing if you going after a cap fleet in your mission or a fighter wing.. and higher rewards.. this idea is not all that bad.. but i do not see it ever happening
Interesting idea but I am unsure that it would be possible
who would the target be anyways....diplomacy is to complex for people to all have a common enemy
but in the meantime I can sell you the coordinates to the Temple of the Revenant if you want to go on an impossible suicide-ish raid of a system :P
If it's possible to do an "instance" like this, I imagine that it would be best to have Connecticut linking to them, as they'd be specialized PvE systems, not especially in roleplay.
Connecticut has four tradelanes to different stations...If this idea gains momentum, why not put a JH on the end of each of those lanes launching to different systems with different challenges.
One can be fighters, another can be 3-4 dessies, another battleships, a fourth cap patrols (Mixed bag like the NPC patrols) They could all be set to some odd faction not currently in use that can be hostile to everyone (Admin faction? :D)

Nah, not Admin faction. There's a few factions lying around from SP still, such as Rogue Navy/Rogue LSF/Rogue LPI.

I always enjoyed the Instance thing in WoW and other games, fantastic for getting everyone to get used to their role in a fight without the frustration of PvP initially...
Also gives factions another Rp event without massive external orginization...

As soon as my new offices are ready (with 1 x uber internet connection) I would like to set up a South African Disco server. These kind of events are great while your server grows as well!
