I have been directed to handle this matter on behalf of Herr Meisnerr, who is still gravely busy organising a counter front against the barbarian hordes of the Corsairs. It is unfortunate that the first exchange of words between our two groups must progress like that, but the enthusiasm that the Corsairs seem to be showing towards the ZA is most unsettling, and we will be watching Zoner actions within our space very carefully in order to determine whether the status of this alliance is going to take on a different, more pro-Corsair stance in their policies.
A further concern is the acceptance of the scorned slaver family known as the Robinsons as the head of the unorganised Zoner interests within the ZA. That captain and his terrible crew has had the luxury of being one of the few Zoners to be declared as an enemy of the Rheinland people due to his rampant slavery, threats and even political manipulation in order to deteriorate relations between the Gran Canaria Zoners and the Red Hessian movement. Now, I have been informed that Herr Hoerst has in the past made great progress with Herr Holiday of the TAZ regarding this individual and all that follow him, notably just before the schism within the CoZ. It is more than worrying to see that Robinson is once again allowed into a vital political position within another Zoner council so to say, in order to directly oppose the interests of the Red Hessian movement by promoting his ideals of slavery.
I am hoping however that the enlightened individuals within the ZA who happen not to condone slavery and oppression will be willing to work to alleviate this problem. I will look forward to hearing from you.

Her Riess,
While I understand the concern that you feel, I believe the Corsairs are happy about the fact that things will be returning to the old status quo in regards to how the ZA will act. We will treat everyone equally and enforce our policies the same across the board. The RHA will be welcome at our stations the same as everyone else. We are returning to the true neutrality that made us Zoners.
To Rear Admiral Jack Osborne,
I thank you for your kind words and hope to be working with you in the future.

You, sir, are misinformed. In the future, hold your tongue until you know the facts.
Jonah Robinson is my cousin. I have not seen him, nor any members of his immediate family, in several years. Furthermore, I have never laid eyes on the RFS Freedom, let alone set foot inside of it, and have never, EVER participated in the Slave trade.
These accusations are not only wrong, but libelous! Knock it off.

Guten Tag, Herr van der Riess,
It is good to speak to you again. Excuse my delay in replying. I have been home recovering from major surgery and undergoing therapy as well. *looks in disgust at the transmission from Victor Robinson*
I see Mr. Robinson has the same verbalism his cousin does...anyway.
I guess if I were in your position, Herr van der Riess, I would feel much the same, feeling this whole alliance is tipped towards the Corsairs. I'm not one to dictate to you how you should feel or how the Corsairs or anyone else should feel but since both peoples use the facilities of Freeport 1, I would think that the Red Hessians would be equally angry over the Treaty of Bethlehem. It is true that Bretonia is targeting the Corsairs but by Bretonia taking more control of the base, this would equally affect Red Hessians.
I have heard from the base staff that already business has dropped dramatically and they are shouting for a fix. Since the current CoZ created the problem, the Zoner Alliance is in no position to fix it. Would we like to? Yes we would.
Unfortunately, for the time being, we have to deal with things as they are. Real resolve takes time, thought and hard work. I say to you, Herr van der Riess, that our neutrality will not be a problem for you. As I so often do, I am willing to work to maintain the trust you have shown me just as I do to all those that I associate with.
From the breadth and background of various persons responding on this channel, I think it's safe to say that I can add the stance of the Republic of Liberty into this lovely morass.
I couldn't help but notice a few lovely titbits about the Treaty of Bethlehem.
Quote:Let me be perfectly clear here. The Treaty of Bethlehem is Council of Zoners' affair. The Consortium takes no responsibility for treaties and contracts drafted by other parties.
This would be an agreeable stance were it not for the fact that the original incarnation of the treaty and much of the negotiation behind it was drafted by the Chief Executive of Omicron Supply Industries, mister Nichols. Incidentally a representative of this new Zoner Alliance of yours. This treaty was meant to be binding to all Zoners in the Council of Zoners at the time as well as the organisation of the council itself.
Quote:On a personal note, yes I do realize I was the one who was representing the COZ in the Bethlehem negotiations, seeing the fall out over it and some other factors, I do regret it. It will be on the top of the list for the ZA to discuss.
I don't know what there is to discuss. The treaty was made, relevant persons signed on behalf of their people and we went our separate ways. But, if you do find aspects of the treaty you wish to change, my door is open. I wont guarantee any changes can or will be made. However, if you wish to go one step further and renege on the treaty, then proceedings will move out of my hands.
That said, I may be grabbing the wrong end of the stick, so to speak. If my understanding of the current situation is mistaken, I will stand corrected and be happy to listen to what representatives of the new Zoner Alliance will have to say.
