Quote:the ranks are pretty proscriptive. they're not really going to achieve much except make people not want to join.
Good point, I'll probably change that... I was never a big fan of ranks other than to keep the restricted ships in the top ranks for members I can trust.
Quote:Are you intending to represent all of the Gallic Junkers, or merely the Royalist side? Canonically, the Gallic Junkers work both sides, and the Council/Brigands/etc. make use of their services as well as the Crown (though the Crown pays better, so they get more services).
Only a part of the junkers, I dont speak for all of them. There's room if someone else wants to try playing their junkers differently, but as shown in the rest of sirius junker groups arent all that common. The indies can work with the other side if they want, I guess.
Ok, I updated the ranking system to be a little more feasible. The majority of members will hold the Pilote rank, and will be restricted to fighters/bombers/freighters. Specific members that I approve will be able to use gunboats and transports, and will hold the Capitaine rank. The Directeur rank is for myself, as the faction leader.
The ranks are really just meant to keep gunboats and such out of the hands of the players until approved, I dont want a billion gunboats running around gallia under my faction name. We'll focus on fighters/bombers foremost, with the gunboats used as heavier craft when needed. Eventually I may throw out a request for a cruiser as the flagship of the faction, but that waits to be seen.
This faction does look very tempting, but I have an issue with the diplomacy. It makes more sense to me to have the Unione Corse and the Gallic Brigands listed as Unfriendly, rather than Hostile.
The Brigands as a whole have no political motivation, they don't support the Council so much as they use the chaos of the civil war for their own profit. The Unione Corse seem to dissaprove of the Council while having covert ties to the Gallic government. Being openly Hosile to these groups doesn't ring true for me.
On the other hand, the weapons and ships all look good, possibly allow the use of the repair ship, but like I said it all looks very tempting.
hm... you have a good point there, might change to neutral or unfriendly with the brigands and corse, since it makes sense that we would occasionally use them for information...
