Volume 1; Gold
Gold is Bretonia Mining and Manufacturings first and foremost mined good, BMM is unmatched within the Dublin system for gold mining and processing, Graves still holding the majority of gold processing and near proximity, but already stationary miner dominated rocks. Recent discoveries of new long distance Gold fields has become the core target of BMM Gold division and it's superior experience and geographical proximity to most of BMM assets. Two fields east, and north-east of the New London Gate are ripe for BMM mining, and we intend to monopolise said fields. A third field south west, and with greater risk and inefficient distance to processing plants, is considered low priority and minimal surveys indicate the field is likely of lower size and yield to the rich eastern fields.
Competition within Dublin has always been present, since the early private years of smaller mining corporations, to the present day Independent Miners Guild private Bretonian corporation. Molly's have had minimal success in mining, merely collecting scraps from an old, near spent field not considered worth the possible losses in taking. However these 'rivals' in the field of gold mining pale in comparison to BMM's longest standing and most valuable resource, should they attempt to contest the eastern fields, they will find themselves out-mined and beaten thoroughly, Tau 23, this is not. Should IMG however attempt to mine the western field, no unnecessary effort need be applied to halt IMG there, the field as stated before is not of interest to BMM and the two eastern fields are superior.

Detroit [Short range, medium profit, high risk] Recommended transport: Shire
Ingolstadt [Long range, high profit, medium risk] Recommended transports: Advanced Train, Shetland
While mining can be done by oneself, maximum efficiency is best reached by any number higher than one. Pairs, trio's and higher numbers of people provide greater flexibility, security and ultimately profit.
Mining in a duo, at most times fairly optimal due to manpower placement and the limits thereof. It is advised that the pair are both in mining ships, Mafics being unable to provide security for the mined product in the same fashion, Mafics and other small mining craft may be used, but with chance of losing the product and much profit. The two miners should mine the recommended cargo capacity of the transport assigned to the task, in most cases between 4180 and 5000(-20 armour upgrade recommended for safety of the good). At the point the target is met, the mining crew should take to standby mode to refuel, eat and various required functions to ensure long term use. At which point the transport, with perhaps a crewman of one of the miners on board to negotiate with the end dealer and watch over the hard worked good. The second miner would do well to request an escort for the transport, perhaps one of the miner crewmen should go personally and ensure one is arranged.
For mining in a trio or higher, there are two ways to go about this, first of all, one may opt for three miners working together, recommended two mining ships and a third ship of any type, Mafic's come into their own here, providing security and mining support in one bag. Once again, as soon as the required amount for shipping is acquired, one of the miners should retire for various functions, and a transport requested with one of the miners crew on board for supervision.
From here we split into two paths, first and most popular would be to have the remaining two miners continue to mine and prepare a second load for when the transport returns, keeping a constant chain of hard laboured mining going for maximum profits, due to the higher risk of this, hiring escorts outside the BMM payroll of the mining mission on a relative to cargo worth cheap price, is advised. The second path at this point is for again the miners to retire and request escorts, compared to the duo, this might be less efficient, however it is the best protected, and therefore a trip to the shorter range Detroit munitions drop is possible, from which you may return to your miners quickly and re-start mining. Mining in a quad or higher provides more paths; four miners working flat to provide gold for two transports, which would then travel in convoy with the two remaining miners again requesting escorts while their miners resupply. For a high risk high profit option, having two miners attempt to provide for two transports running the high risk Detroit short run will provide great results, if all shipments reach destination safely. Five or more and three miners may attempt to provide gold for two transports taking to Ingolstadt.
Despite these recommendations, it is up to the mining group 'on the ground' to take the judgement on which path to take.
*Transport should consider hiring outside help in the form of escorts

Security
Dublin is not safe, there are less safe places, but that provides no comfort. BMM is the foremost forger of ship hull panels/armour, and thus has the strongest armour in all of Sirius. On top of the superior production of ship armour used all around the universe for use on other house and corporate ship designs, Bretonian ship design makes the most use of this unmatched hull panel production to provide superior armour without excessive thickness, sleek but not huge ships. The Templar resembling a tank with sleek surface reflecting and absorbing the impact of most damage, thus providing higher armour despite comparatively small chassis. Because of this, BMM has access to some of the finest defences available, on top of it's finely produced ships in use by law enforcement, in Dublin, even her Majesties finest soldiers and fighter pilots stand watch over our backs. Not to be complacent, BMM and to an extent Bowex will provide workers with the best protection. At the most extreme of cases, making for the Essex for safety is not at all out of the question, survival is important.
[1]
Profit is king, profit makes everyone happy, even those that risk their necks for it. A rich company is a rich government, and a rich government is a rich populace. The LD-14 workers receive the highest wages in Sirius for workers, by a long shot. Look after the companies profits and the companies profits look after you.
[2]
No stealing, unless from our rivals and enemies.
[3]
No betraying your nation, BMM's core purpose is to support Bretonia.
[4]
If we can't have it, no one can have it, we cannot tolerate BMM assets getting stolen, if able, destroy them. Station's can be rebuilt, but the effect of our foes using them against us is not as easy to fix.
[5]
Trust no one, operate on the assumption that they are feigning friendship. We are full of enemies and if they're not our enemy they're likely being paid by said enemies.
[6]
Money is power, but protection money is not efficient, preferably pay a ruffian to beat someone else up (a rival or pirate group is preferable), not to not beat you up. Mercenaries and bounty hunters are our greatest weapon.
[7]
Do not be late, time is money, and failing to meet deadlines hurts client confidence.
[8]
Do not let a client down.
[9]
Bargaining and breaking new deals and contracts is key, never pay what they ask you to pay. We are a nationalised corporation, but non-government contracts helps the government in another way.
[10]
Calculate risk into everything, consider every single escape route, closest base, possible allies and possible threats. See rule six and remember we'd rather you pay a mercenary five million credits to kill a pirate who attempts to steal three million credits, said mercenary will return the money in buying supplies and that dead pirate won't return another day.
Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing Security protocols
Security, while generally believed to be mostly fat men sat in boxes looking at data pads and camera feeds, is actually, to Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing, an extremely wide term. The primary role may be comparable to most other corporations, in escorting trade ships and protecting mining sites, it has far reaching purposes, however the fundamental escort and guard duty role must be described first of all. Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing enjoys a highly cooperative role with Bowex, and for that reason BMM escorts are compelled to assist in convoys run by Bowex in protection, more than likely that Bowex would be hauling BMM goods, our prosperity is deeply linked to their safety. Escorting
In this role, an escort is best not sitting in formation waiting for the pirates to strike, but to instead perform scouting and indeed, clean up of future paths. Transports are not well suited to being shot at, so dealing with threats before they catch eyes on your transport is most effective. The escort must at all times be tuned in to local police and armed forces frequencies for piracy reports, as well as reporting to said frequencies should the situation demand. The escort should be prepared to use himself as a decoy for the transport, our ships are equipped with the finest life-pod recovery systems and should you take severe damage, provided that your convoy escaped harm, the loss of the escort ship is deemed acceptable.
Guard Duty
The second role of BMM security personnel, is to ensure the safety of mining ships and stations controlled by BMM. Again like trade escort duty, prevention is a superior measure to defending at the site, intercept targets before they even reach the location and take them out with extreme prejudice, request law enforcement and military assistant where required. A twist to BMM guarding efforts, is that mining is not a calm business, with competition running high and resources in such demand, defending ones mining operation may turn itself to attacking a rivals, before he attacks yours first.
Now, Security in its wider form for Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing, is not limited to these basic concepts. Security is not just seen as defending ones commercial interests and stations like militia do a town. But in the business of mining, the term 'Militant miners' is often used by myself and many others. Mining is a cut-throat business, and he who arms his corporation to the teeth and is prepared to do battle for his own interests, wins. All miners, transports, fighter craft, bomber craft and even Royal Liners are expected to be heavily armoured with the finest Bretonian armour upgrades, and equipped with the finest weapons and training available. If some pirates dare to threaten our operations, having fighter wings stationed nearby for quick response is key to survival. Making claim to fields, you must be prepared to enforce those claims with all means available.
BMM makes widespread use of the ships;
CTE-19000 "Roc" Civilian Bomber
CTE-6000 "Eagle" Civilian Very Heavy Fighter
CTE-3000 "Falcon" Civilian Heavy Fighter
CTE-4000 "Griffin" Civilian Light Fighter
XB-2 "Havoc Mk II" Civilian Bomber
To a lesser extent the semi-combat ships;
KS-1093 "Mafic" Civilian Super Heavy Miner
KS-779 "Dacite" Civilian Heavy Miner E78-12 "Spatial" Civilian Deep Space Explorer
May be used sparingly in combat.
Key to defensive efforts are the ships;
DU5-7Y "Hegemon" Civilian Mining Ship
"Shire" Bretonian Container Transport
Both highly protected ships and capable of escaping through deterrence, long enough to make it to a friendly base. With secondary use in attacking pirate armoured transports and gunboats in numbers.
Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing personal are to be armed at all times, should you seek armaments proceed to Thames Armoury and file a request. The company will ensure it's employees are protected.
