I'm a little unimpressed at the combat system.. it's very much like Dungeon Siege, with characters flailing attacks at nearby units until they die. I would have much preferred a Two Worlds or Dark Messiah-like combat system where you can more precisely maneuver your character and possibly attack multiple nearby units depending on where your weapons are swinging, their reach, etc.
The game's not intended to work that way, mate.
The same people that made Neverwinter Nights and KOTOR made this, therefore that's what the game's gonna be like.
It's all D&D rules, all the way.
I haven't played it yet but I think it's gonna be more like NN and less like KOTOR, which I don't like that much.
NN's awesome and all, but I like the way KOTOR puts you close to the action.
Anyways, the game's downloading so I'll see this afternoon.:P
As far as I know it's like a mix between Baldurs Gate/NN and KOTOR. Being able to control from an aerial, iso veiw like BG and NN, but also zooming in behind the shoulder to play KOTOR style.
All of which were epic games.
Sorry to contradict you Beardface, but I'm pretty sure it's not D&D rules, just something relatively similar.
I got it today, haven't played yet though, I'll be back with an update.
I got it, quite a nice game really. Admittebly, I would have loved a full 3rd person -FPS- control. Although, the RTS aspect is nice, reminds me of Kotor and DS.
I'm loving it myself. Gonna have to start over though, screwed some things up. <3 Dalish.
I'm not a huge fan of the RTS feeling, hence I'm always in 3rd person mode. But it's a fun game. Been playing it for the past two days when I could.
