I decided I'd purchase a "Heimdall"-class Hessian Gunboat, after picking up some bribes and eventually arriving in Omega-54, I flew to Wolfsburg and bought it, however, when I went to equip my shiny new gunboat with some weaponry, I was told my reputation with the RH Guard was too low, which was rather disappointing. But I was almost hostile to the RH Guard so I rolled with it and painfully grinded missions out of Vogtland with full Class-4 Roter Blitz turrets that don't even touch my power drain and take forever to knock down the swarming Bounty Hunters that comprise almost every mission I've taken from Vogtland.
Eventually I worked my way up to fully neutral with the RH Guard and returned to Wolfsburg, only to be denied again.
Have the rules for purchase of equipment from Guard bases been changed, I've been able to purchase from the full selection of Rheinland Guard weapons off of Battleship Moselle even though at the time I was almost hostile to the guard as well. Or do I now have to grind more missions to get to friendly, or, *shudder* full friendly status to pick up my weapons now?
All capital ship weapons require green rep. As in, it just became green. Normal weapons (Fighter, bomber, etc.) don't need good rep. Head to Bornholm, buy some basics, then use those until you can get Hessan guns.
I suggest tagging it Guard. I've found that "reputation not high enough" issues tend to poofle when you're full green to the faction in question. (That said, as Gauss pointed out, get basics at Bornholm)
