The solaris battleship turrets are most turrets available to battleships. They are good vs fighters and bombers. Unfortunally they take so much energy per shot that with the power drain of cruising and other weapons on board its hard to get a long enough fire window to take down a bomber/fighter. They take more energy than most primaries and they are even SMALLER and less powerful so if anythng they should take less.

Also the range is 1000m but i found out the curser to help target hostiles only comes up at roughly 700 and lets face it that sucks. You cannot hit **** with them at that range and power drain.

I am suggesting increasing the range to 1800m so at least we can fire 1500m and also taking the power drain down dramaticly.

Also No one in the server wants to have the damn power drain from cruising. (Thats just a side note)

I did have all solaris on my BS and i pvp another ally Cruiser and i hardly scracted his shield, well i know thats not there purpose but worse is that i had to basicly touch him to get in range, and vs NPCs i take so much energy that i only have about 10 seconds of a fire window. Its silly for such small weapons.

No. Just no.

I've had a Solaris rip me up in a GUNBOAT. if a BS is kitted with half Solaris/half Primary/1 mortar, It can kill anything smaller than it.

SOlaris? Hell no. Certain loldreads owned by what I thought were rrespectable members of the community just plow in and kill bombers/fighters/gunboats

They've been crap for a while, but the bomber lobby here is huge.

Learn to time your shots and use your primaries more. Also use the right weapons for the right situation. Solaris is not meant for shooting at things you can see from 10K away.

That would have a lot to do with it. In the larger Battleships, if you have only Solaris mounted, the guns at the back of the ship have such a speed delay compared with those at the front that you can't hit anything. You have to intelligently group your weapons so that things like this don't happen.

Well okay its a outcast battleship i have taticly placed my solairs so one is in front and then one in the middle and on on the back. i also have two in the side so they can shoot up and down. This makes a 360 degree fire ark and then i have rest primries. Still tho the energy should be lowered they take more energy than a single prime and they shoot twice as fast... The range should be increased by 500m at least.

I say this because my one of my solaris are at the tip of my ship and i was from a target at a distance of 1065m or something like that. I could not get the target curser up til i was 700m Now thats stupid... there clearly something wrong there.
