Not much can be said about the Penny as it is still awaiting it's shakedown cruise.
The ship was originally designed to be a mobile base and bar, refueling fighters with fuel and pilots with alcohol. Needless to say, as a rogue construct, and as a ship funded and modeled by a mostly illiterate crew that failed to pass using crayons in kindergarten, it failed miserably in this purpose.
It's new purpose is to serve as an example to other rogues as to what exactly not to do. It has been very effective in this role. Many rogues now use bombers and development of heavy capital ships has all but ceased.
The size of the vessel allows her to carry 250 souls, but due to budget reasons the ship functions with sparse remnants of what resembles a crew. However, it is not as if this matters as the vessel has not even conducted it's shakedown cruise due to the aforementioned budgetary reasons.
In a strange turn of events, the crew moved themselves into the ship as they all had pitched in to get Penny constructed. Having spent every last penny of their own on making sure the project floated, even though the ship might not, they command it as if it is in space, even though it is still in the drydock.
Somehow, due to anonymous donations believed to be coming from someone on Manhattan, the ship manages to pay off the shipyard's administration to keep it in the drydock, as well as receive basic supplies and energy.
Crew: LRS-Penemue
Captain Steve Dean:
The Captain. Barks orders from his room but is mainly ignored. One of the best, until one day he went insane. No-one knows why he went insane.
First Hand Man Lou Briccant:
In truth, this man is the one who truly commands the ship. He mutes the Captain's communicator and issues real orders whenever needs be, but apart from that he let's the Captain's idiosyncrasy rule the ship. Born as a Manhattanite who went through university and got a degree, many wonder what attraction he found in the rogues to join them one day.
Navigations Woman Nadia Seymour:
A woman. Whilst this would usually summarise all the information in our databanks, since this half of the species is highly unpredictable, the sexism protocols have been removed from our memory banks. That, and this one is highly predictable. Possibly because as the ship is still in drydock, she has nothing to do, except paint her nails.
Communications Man Lowden Clear:
The one man show manning the comms. The only reason he is the only one responsible is because other communications staff could not be afforded. That, and everyone else thinks Smith is a mad hatter. He has a tendency to shout random chatter into the comms which confuses the enemy. Well, at least it confuses the simulation software, but by judging fiscal restraints on the entire vessel, the simulation program was most likely skimped on as well. There was a time he locked himself up in the communications room for two weeks and played love songs through the communication channel. Needless to say, the communication room has had it's doors removed and any and all love songs have been banned, with the exception of one song which is meant to be historical in nature as it was supposedly composed when the Alliance was still in Sol.
Helmsman Joe Wright:
Flies the vessel. Or more appropriately steers it, after being told where to steer by a superior officer. He is rather proud of his own skills, even though technically and statistically, he is an idiot. During every single simulation he hits asteroids or falls asleep. He also drinks heavily, forcing the barman droid to console him. Unfortunately, as Wright is robbed so consistently the droid never makes any money anyway. According to the simulation logs, he flies better whilst drunk. In terms of personality, he is very charismatic, which is why he manages to maintain his position, as the helmsman; the ship's position is only maintained by the fact that it is still in the drydock.
RBT class Robot, call-sign unassigned:
This droid functions as the barman on the ship. He is also personality programmed, which means whenever a heartless pirate drinks too much and becomes a blubbering mess he resorts to his basic psychology sub-routines in order to get that pirate away from the bar whilst extorting as many credits as possible in the process. Somehow, it has assassination protocols programmed as well, just in case the ship gets boarded. This however, is a poor excuse, as defense and security protocols would have been a better program to purchase. It is believed the crew just wanted the novelty of a droid with assassination programming. No-one is quite sure who exactly authorised it's purchase, but no-one seems to mind as it has been fully paid for. This of course begs the question, how any random rogue could have afforded such a droid, but suffice to say due to the aforementioned budgetary reasons we do not have bandwidth or storage space for such information.
Mike Rotch:
A random Zoner who shows up here and there around the ship. Believed to be capable of teleportation. Consistently mentions capital ship armour and saving Sirius. Also believed to be insane. Fits right in with the other crew members. Unfortunately, his presence is so varied and sparse no further information is available.

After several months in drydock, and no clear timeframe as to when the craft was going to leave, let alone how it was going to leave, the man with a plan came to the main table in the bar. Everyone was summoned by Lowden Clear, through internal comms to come to the table. Everyone on board came, with the exception of the droid, the insane Captain, and the random Zoner who was believed to be teleporting around the Taus. This meant four people sat at a large table meant for around fifty people.
Lou Briccant told them all what they wanted to hear. The ship would launch one way or another. They had been contacted by someone called The Potato. The Potato wanted their services for some woman called Molly in Bretonia. Nadia Seymour wondered whether the woman was a lesbian. Lowden Clear wondered whether it was a trap. The droid in the bar wondered why it never got many customers. There was a lot of wondering going around, with the exception of Joe Wright who just sat there with a blank face.
Either way, it needed to be clear that they were going to be given enough credits to get the craft afloat as well as a bit extra to make certain upgrades and get the ship up and running enough to be profitable by itself.
Steve Dean, sat, in all his insanity, in his room aboard the ship and observed the table in the bar. He may have been utterly insane, but he understood what was going on. The ship was being converted. It was going to help the Mollies, the Rogues allies in Bretonia, for a cheap price that would strengthen the alliance between the two factions, whilst allowing the ship some fly-time. He also understood that the corruption of donut-drinking coffee-eating privatised Liberty Police were nothing, compared to the bastion of incorruptibility and efficiency of Her Majesty's finest.
A few more months passed. Steve Dean lost his insane state. The droid wished the insane state would come into the bar and order a drink and pay for it. Steve Wright wondered what an insane state looked like and whether it would affect the engine. Nadia Seymour wondered whether her ninth shade of teal nail polish was stolen by this insane state. Lowden Clear was happy that the insane state was another being was listening to his voice on the comms. Mike Rotch was still nowhere to be seen even though he was helping out. Lou Briccant wondered whether his hand and forehead would merge and save him the effort of facepalming.
The months had been stressful.
Since the insane state had left him Steve Dean began to contact his contacts in Bretonia. They told him of increased activity and the pushing of noodle munchers into Leeds, as well as the loss of a few good chaps. He wanted to broker a deal where Bretonian lawfuls would turn a blind eye to the eyesore and incompetence of the Penny as long as the Penny assisted with invasions. He hoped the deal would be approved.
Lou Briccant was taking advantage of the fact that the Captain was back and able to handle things. The Potato was also still in contact, telling them a few more details still needed to be sorted out, especially since the Mollies did not like the Kusari or the Crown. That, and his brother Antonio was still missing. Rumours of him dropping off the map left his brother extremely worried. Lou knew his brother could be hot-headed and idealistic if given the chance. Either way, Lou Briccant was happy. His brother's last sighting was in Bretonia supposedly.
In the meantime, donations from Mike Rotch were allowing the ship to remain in drydock. No-one knew how the money was being paid though, or how the supposedly teleporting Zoner earned it.
