Les Enfants Perdus is a volunteer unit within the Gallic Royal Navy, consisting of disgraced aristocrats who choose to fight along side common soldiers in an effort to regain their lost honour. These are men with nothing left to loose, and everything to regain. They believe that a heroic death in battle will earn themselves and their families respect from their peers.
They often volunteer for the most dangerous assignments, including deep reconnaissance into enemy territory, moving in advance of an attacking force, rear guard defensive actions, delaying enemy fleet movements, acting as bait for ambushes and being employed as a diversionary unit against a much larger force. They have a willingness to participate in so called "suicide missions" and have been described by high ranking officers as "reliable cannon fodder".
The name "Les Enfants Perdus" is an ancient military term, literally meaning "The Lost Children". It referred to the first wave of soldiers to assault an enemy fortification. While the vast majority were usually killed, the remaining survivors were guaranteed promotion.
The unit was founded by Jean-Pierre de Malet, former captain of the Gallic Royal Navy Cruiser La Rochelle, who fought in the disastrous Battle of Montpellier. After being publically disgraced, he was determined to fight once again to regain his families honour. He began to seek out other disgraced aristocrats in his position; Royal Navy officers, admirals, captains and commanders involved in the battles in Languedoc, and Gallic Royal Army generals and commanders who fought on Planet Quillan and Nimes Station. He also tracked down older aristocrats, still living in disgrace due to defeats earlier on in the Second Gallic War.
The unit is currently small in number, but is steadily growing as more and more disgraced nobles sign up hoping to regain their honour through glorious victory, or through heroic death.

Diplomacy:
[color=#33FF33]Gallic Royal Navy:
Obey all orders given by ranking Royal Navy Officers. Come to the aid of any pilot or ship who calls for it at once, no mater the risk to yourself. Provide assistance to new recruits as necessary.
Gallic Royal Police:
Come to their aid at once if they request it. If you see a Royal Police Officer behaving in a suspicious manner, report it at once to a ranking Royal Navy Officer. Do not take any direct action against them, unless directly ordered to by a ranking Royal Navy Officer.
Ile-de-France Shipping, EFL Oil and Machinery, Gallic Metal Service:
Come to aid of any civilian who calls for it at once. Defend civilians against pirate and terrorist attacks with your life. Offer to escort trade ships to their destination, free of charge.
Junkers:
The Junkers are a diverse group. While some choose to remain neutral, many openly oppose the Council, and should be given assistance if requested.
Gallic Brigands, Unione Corse:
If found committing acts of piracy, assault or extortion, destroy all offending vessels and deliver any survivors to the nearest to the nearest Royal Police or Royal Navy base to await trial.
Non-Gallic Persons:
All Sirians must be ordered to drop all cargo and then be escorted out of Royal Gallic territory. If they refuse, destroy their vessel and deliver any survivors to the nearest Royal Navy base for interrogation.
The Council, The Maquis:
Destroy all enemies of the Gallic Crown. If they try to flee, pursue them. If outgunned or outnumbered, request backup and occupy the enemy until they arrive. Never flee from battle. Never surrender.
I think this is an excellent idea. Very unique and holding to the idea of Gallic honor. However I don't really like the idea of only using Heavy Fighters... I guess this faction aims to increase the amount of people using them, but it still seems a bit too restrictive.
