Quote:Unfortunately, she also reported the suspicious presence of nanobots and shield batteries floating in close proximity to the station.
I see people still can't behave themselves out there. I guess I'll have to make way back to the Freeport.
Quote:New Order o' the Day: If anyone from ASF even looks crosswise at one of us, get concrete documentation, and chastise them severely. If all else fails we will put contracts out for bid to the "usual suspects".
Will do. But, um, we Klingons get looked at crosswise quite a bit being different and all.
Oh, nice to see you again, Mal!

And all that other communication blabble...
I was hangin' out aroung FP 11 up in Delta the other day. At one point when I undocked to take a spin through the Palau Field, I came across almost half a dozen Corsairs, sitting around in their big-ass 'Sirises and the like. I didn't bother sayin' anything to them, they looked... busy.
But I wonder, why're they sitting around a Freeport, lookin' all intimidating and whatnot, when they have their own base, not even 30K away, where they can sit around and look all intimidating and whatnot? It don't make much sense to me. But that was a while ago. Haven't seen 'em since.
This is just a message to inform you, our fellow Zoners, that we are currently communicating with the Zoner Guard about strengthening the Robinson Family's ties with the rest of the Zoners, and perhaps, if our skills are improved upon, earning a Guard IFF status. Since Mr. Robinson is still new to piloting the updated Freedom, he has agreed to undergo training, part of which entails shooting at targets near Zoners bases.
Not to worry, though-these targets, although similar to normal Zoner ships, are actually drones-robots- and not real Zoners. The Robinson family has already paid out-of-pocket for this training to the base commanders, so this training is at no expense to you.
So, long story short, if you see the RFS Freedom firing at an apparently Zoner drone, this is just a training exercise, and a tryout for a Guard tag. Do not interpret this as a hostile act.
Thank you.

Good of you to let us know, as I would certainly have reacted! Take care and good luck with the Guard tag, I KNOW what a trial that is.

Is this thing on?
Ah.
Fellow Discordians, ontological anarchists, Zoners, poetic terrorists, weirdos, sisters, borthers, machines and... others. Rejoice, for I have returned, and while I seem to have crashed Punchin' somewhere on the edge, and misplaced the location of Tradin' somewhere in my pineal, I'm sure I'll be back in space spreading the words of any number of random deities in no time.
That leads me to the fact that I have no idea what craft to buy... I won't be replacing Tradin', but I need something stylish for the Borderworlds to replace Punchin'. Something with guns and enough shield to survive out there and enforce the occasional no-fire zone or escort a fellow Zoner bringing goods (or profits) for the Freeports, but nothing as big as my ol' Fearless, cause that was a flying bitch to park. Besides, I did manage to save the AI, and the hubris it got from the destroyer scares me a little.
Spatial? Gunboat? Bomber? The Corsairs sell a gunboat cheap enough, but it's ugly as a Corsairs dead mother, and perhaps a tad big. Did I mention ugly? I do love flying a GB, but... UGLY! Ah, and not too expensive, seems I have little cash around now.
*faint*What was that Punchin'? - Oh!
Umm... guess one or two might wonder where I was... see... I'm not entirely sure. I was in the Omicrons, minding my... well, someone else's business, in all likelihood, and then Punchin' claims I took of towards the Edge. Then his logs are blank until the fiery re-entry at Baden-Baden, and I can't remember squat. So, I took a ticket to Manhattan to fetch my emergency stash, and here I am. See? Clear as Canaria mud!
So, itching to get back out!
49's, and BHHH!

Seb!!
I promise you, sir. No more excursions to extinguish rogue computers buried on remote planets; since "First Thought" was so churlish as to have its "last thought" before our expedition could even arrive to palaver and take its pulse.
Meh.. stale news. Anything of note is probably buried in those 4,000-odd queued messages you have to catch up on, underneath the weekly holovid schedules and male enhancement adverts.
As to Punchin's "new" look, it seems our Chief Architect has shanghaied all the TAZ shipwrights to finish constructing Pueblo Bonito. Deadlines, you know. Once they've completed the new Temple, we'll have marvelous new ship designs rolling out. Until then, I'd suggest that old reliable IMG Gunboat. Check with Shamus or Fyre for the preferred loadout and interior design tips.
I just spent an amusing few days on Curacao, watching the Hodgy diplomatic types pat each others' rumps over this new "Treaty of Curacao", providing us with one more granfaloon to chuckle at as we spread the Word of Eris and her accomplice Saint Hakim. I met another "sea bass tian" while I was here. Delicious!
We've smashing new Temple Robes at least, Seb. Pop up to Baffin when you've acquired your new vessel, and we'll get you fitted.
Welcome back! It has been a long time. I too took a sabbatical, won't get into it... suffice it to say I am back where I belong, commanding a gunboat. Mal had Shamus take me thru the trials... Won't talk about that either, the hardest trial I've ever experienced. The robes are indeed flattering, Mal commissioned some fine tailors. We are all a bit taxed with the Exodus from Gran C., but security has become a concern with the SCRA in the adjoining system to O-49. With everyone moved, We are now establishing security protocols for the Zoner Freeports throughout Sirius. We guards of course will also be moving to the new base in Baffin once it is complete. Looking forward to that.
In so far as ships, Will recommend old faithful IMG GUNBOAT armed with Order turrets, 1 Inferno, 1 Order missle, Heavy CM, Reinforced disruptor, and if you can swing it... the highest CAP armor you can purchase. Solaris turrets can be used if you are more comfortable with faster refire. I would guard against cerebs unless you are setting for Anti Capital Ship duties. My Ship is set for General purposes at this time. Kilo for kilo, I'd put her in the ring with just about any cruiser class ship.
Glad to see you back... you were missed! Let me know if I can help you in anyway.

To: Mal, Fyre, the rest of you
Oy, thanks Fyre!
Not one to be consitent, I asked for advice, received good recommendations, and did something else entirely. I got me a Kusari Explorer, since I wanted to try something new, and used to run a IMG Gunboat before the Fearless. Also, I fitted it with one Battle Razor, two Inferno, two Zoner turrets, and two missile turrets (again, against recommendations). We'll see how that turns out - I may opt for two Cerberus and one Inferno since I'm having problems managing energy levels right now (I mean, if the generator is not red-lining, you don't have enough firepower fitted, right? Takes me ages to get there right now)
I choose the Zoner turrets over the Solaris just because they are more stylish... and do much the same thing.
As soon as the shipyards start cranking out the new Gunboats, I expect to stand in line, with a whip and a carrot.
Oh, and Sophie? Thanks!

To: Mal, the temple, thinkers and such
I'm currently moored at Shasta, and wonder... is Baffin a highway?
I found a Samura Train, SIS.Hamamatsu, at the jumphole, requesting access. He was polite enough, and I escorted him through. He volunteered a donation of 1M to the temple reconstruction as a token of good will.
Do we still let anyone through? Do we enforce voluntary donations?
I really wanted to blow a junker with some stuff that self-admittedly thought he could 'sneak through', but didn't, since I had just met a rather nice junker, and was still in a good mood. I might have threatened him a bit though. A tad.
Oh, and a recap of what has happened in O49, and what the holy hooves are the space-commies up to?
