So everyone knows that the junkers are kinda banished from Kusari, and that the hogosha will chase them across the stars. However, to the junkers even have a remote interest in Kusari? Even on the unlawful side? Whats happened nowadays to the Junker v Hogosha thing? It's not like the Hogosha seem to go to Yanagi anymore...
So will the Junkers/Hogosha stuff go forward any more? Are they even remotely interested in Kusari?
But would the Junkers build a base where there is no junk? If so, why don't they find a quiet place and settle down? (Oita? if only it were not owned by the IND... How about norther kusari systems out of range of the naval forces?)
But in future discovery terms, of course, would they ever attempt to do anything in Kusari? Of course, they would be destroyed, but it would be interesting to see how long they would last.
I'm not encouraging Junker players to suddenly go to Kusari (people like Zelot would get pretty pissed), in fact I'm not too much of a junkerfan myself. However, I was wondering, if they had the chance to, would they seize that chance?
Well, I've been known to fly in some supplies to the Dragons and GC on a few occasions. Their higher-ups are a bit suss of me, being not only a gaijin but a Bretonian on top of that, although they always appreciate the goods and services I provide.
However the risks associated with flying in Kusari mean I don't go there without a good reason.
Individuals within the Junkers banner might have reasons to go into Kusari, but the faction as a whole probably has more important things to do; like securing a bigger slice of the Liberty black market.
We have a Salvager; but what strictly Hogosha big stuff is there? I can count Hogosha encounters on one hand; the only one of them in a big ship was in a Corsair gunboat; the rest in an assortment of Kusari civilian gear.
The Junkers definitely have an interest in Kusari's underground as they do in all other houses, but the Hogosha agents are everywhere so Junkers generally keep out unless they know exactly why they're going in and where they're headed, then take the least amount of risks.
In gameplay, I just don't have a reason to go. There's harassing the local miners and having little to lose about it, sure. But that's not a whole lot. Also, Hogosha players generally don't bother Yanagi no matter how many artifact smugglers I intercept in Sigma-19. They'll start eventually, I hope.
The one Hogosha vs. Junkers event was a fiasco due to miscommunication. There hasn't been one since.
I think what Rudo and others said pretty much sum it up, but I have something to add.
Another thing that keeps Junkers out of Kusari is that they effectively do not have a "home" there. The groups that we deal with only tolerate us out of necessity. Of course we would love to be in there and monopolize the black-market all around Sirius, but it is just not possible.
I did a couple of routes into Kusari myself a while back, parading myself under the AFA/Hogoshas noses out of spite (In-RP, of course). The GC sells fuel relatively cheap.
I agree with Rudo, though. I'd love to see some more Junker v Hogosha, Junker v FA or heck, even Junker v KSP or KNF. I'm sure we would be crushed like the slow fat bugs that we are, but it would be fun.
@Bazza: Hogosha have the Raba. I flew it once in SP and it's a good ship. Not sure how it would hold up against a Salvager though. The Hogosha can also fly Kusari Explorers, I have seen a couple myself.
