I play a Junker scavenger/trader/smuggler/slaver. I have a few questions.
1. According to the reputation sheets (and all information I can find about Junkers and Bounty Hunters), Junkers are not 'enemies' of Bounty Hunters. However, most Junker missions revolve around killing Bounty Hunters. Is it okay for me to kill Bounty Hunters to collect the pilots for slavetrade with a basic Junker ID/tag? If I change to Slaver ID, can I still use the Junker Salvage Frigate? The description of the ship says that it's Junker only and I really don't want to change my ID but want to keep doing what I've been doing. Should I use the Junker Guard ID for this? I do not intend to 'wage war' against Bounty Hunters, my character is only interested in selling them as slaves. :P
2. The Junker Guard ID has changed. The Junker Guard ID says that Junker Guards are Gallic. Does this mean that Junkers/Junker Guards are allowed to be friendly/green with the Gallic factions? Also, will there be new entrances to Gallia soon? It's too much of a hassle to navigate the minefields.
' Wrote:Huh. What about the Junker Guard system of Puerto Rico? o.O
Puerto Rico is the only Junker Guard system that I know of.
I assume that in a future update, the Junker Guard system may be moved to Gallia. That's just speculation, though. *Shrug* Maybe another Junker Guard ID will be added for Liberty, and a new Guard system/base placed in Gallia. Hard to say. Gallia is apparently the homeland of the Junkers, which is interesting and somewhat terrifying since it may mean that Houses become hostile to Junkers at some point, which would ruin the faction I think.:(The Junkers coolest attribute is that they are unlawful and yet "in" with the Houses, I'd hate to see them pegged off as a spy subsidiary of Gallia (which seems to be what's happening). Apparently Junkers are becoming the 'servants' of Gallia, which is depressing since the Junkers may end up with countless enemies if war happens between Gallia and the other Houses. Most Junker RP relies on neutrality with the lawfuls, if Junkers were to lose their influence in House systems they would become another generic pirate faction.:(
I like and I dislike the changes made to Junkers; the idea of espionage over the course of 800 years is amazing and intriguing but also depressing - I hope the future storyline doesn't cause Junkers to become another Outcast/Corsair-like faction. Some of us play Junkers solely to avoid being restricted in where we can operate.
EDIT;
"Junker Guard ID Wrote:Pilot Carrying this ID is a Gallic Junker, who:
* Can trade and escort traders
* Can demand credits or cargo from Non-Gallic traders or Gallic Unlawfuls
* Can fulfill bounty contracts opened by Junkers or Gallic Lawfuls
* Can attack pirates, terrorists, and Non-Gallic ID's within Gallia
* Cannot participate in unlawful actions against Gallic Corporations
* Cannot land on any bases belonging to Brigands, Maquis, or Unione Corse
* Cannot use any transport with more than 4,300 cargo except for the Vache
* Cannot operate outside of Gallia, the Tau systems, Omicron 80, and Omicron Alpha, Bretonia and Kusari
* This ID does not make you immune to piracy, pirates may choose at their discretion whether to exempt you from being pirated.
Let me clear up something about the Guard ID: It was turned into a Gallic Junker ID. An unofficial one at that. We didn't really loose anything because the ID was stripped of anything that made it worthwhile in the last update.
Now , about the OPs questions.
Bounty Hunters aren't our enemies per se. They collect bounties. If we don't have a bounty on us they have no reason to attack us. If you go around blasting their ships and turning their pilots into slaves however, they will most likely chase you down and blast you to bits. So do it vewy vewy quietly.
The Sirius/Gallic Junker divide is pretty split. If the crown found out what they did they would be in deep shtick. From the few moments of dialog that we had with them (back when Tenacity was working on his gallic junker faction thing), it seemed they were trying to shun us, cut contact so to say. Just take a good look at the rumors in their stations.
Gallic Junkers =/= Sirius Junkers. We will remain quasi-legal even if our Gallic brethren don't. Also, there is no bloody way they are moving "the" guard system to gallia. That one belongs to the Congress. I do think that the gallic Junkers should have their own guard system though.
So, yeah. Ditch the guard ID and use our regular one. Or whine to the admins for us to get ours back.
To correct some of AJBeast's points... the gallic junkers are as quasi-legal as the sirius junkers, though they have closer ties to the government. My junker group chose to focus on working for the navy/government rather than on smuggling and criminal ties.
Most of the pirate groups in gallia (brigands, corse, maquis, etc) are unfriendly or even openly hostile to junkers there, because of the rumored ties to the royalists - however, the junkers do occasionally work with all of these groups and even the council, when there's enough profit to be made and such work can be kept away from the eyes of the royalists.
The gallic junkers view their sirius 'brethren' as lessers, detached from their origins and such - but they still work with them. Gallic junkers have issues travelling deep into sirius, they dont have the connections or knowledge about that area that sirius junkers do - so when smuggling goods across the minefields, the sirius and gallic junkers generally make exchanges just outside of gallic space. Gallic junkers will go through the minefield with gallic cargo, sell it to sirius junkers in orkney or omicron 80, who will then take it into sirius and sell it there, bringing back cargo that gallia needs and making a similar exchange.
Likewise, sirius junkers do not have the royalist connections that gallic junkers do, and thus are not able to move as freely within gallia, and are regarded with suspicion and hostility by the royal navy and police. They tend to have better relations with the council, however, who views them just like any other sirius faction - with more or less 'open arms'.
Then there are very special cases such as my own original sirius junker, thorn (captain of the liner tenacity) who has worked to establish relations on both sides. It wasnt easy, but I did get on the good side of quite a few royalists in gallia, while working with the ferrailleurs (my junker faction), and the idea was to make that the flagship of the faction before everything was shut down due to inactivity. Thus, I occasionally go into gallia with my sirius junker ship, and usually have no problems with the royalists there, though the unlawful side pretty much hates me =P
And this...
Quote:Also, will there be new entrances to Gallia soon? It's too much of a hassle to navigate the minefields.
No, the entirety of gallia is surrounded by such minefields. The whole -purpose- of the junkers in relation to gallia is the fact that we can fly through the unopened minefields whereas others cant, which is how the junkers in gallia have been obtaining information about sirius for the past few centuries. Learn to enjoy minefields, if you want to operate as a junker near them.
Hmmm i don't remember any Oficial notice stating that the congress owns Peurto Rico. If i am wrong? Link it so i can read it. IE an admin stating that cogress own's Peurto Rico, and not that u just paid the 500mil, cause back in 4.83 another junker faction also paid the 500mil plus 1bil to design it. Yet they also do not own it.
