Hello. So I've tried going into Connecticut with one of my characters before, and what happened was that I completely lost the connection, no /ping, no docking, no system chat, etc.
The only solution that there was really was for my friend to blow me up during the 60 second countdown after I disconnected, so that I'd respawn at the last base I was at.
I tried this again today in my pirate transport, Smoking.Wreck, and it had the same results. I don't know what's up with this, but in the meantime, can someone move me out of there please? And also figure out why none of my characters can go in there?
It may be related to an earlier problem I had/have where any character I make experiences a period where they have a habit of disconnecting from the server within a few seconds of them leaving a base. The ping starts off about normal, then shoots up to ridiculous highs, along with the loss. I've had loss as high as 50% or so.
Please help?
edit: Also, for anyone, where can I see my FLID? I wrote it down somewhere when I first started playing, but I can't seem to find it now.
Thanks to MikeyH for the banner.

Hmm, this...could be bad.
Don't go to Conn?

New problem: I uninstalled the mod with FLMM by restoring my backups, re-installed, and now Freelancer won't even start up. It crashes before it gets to the splash screen, and after a bit my computer tells me that it's not responding.
I've tried reinstalling the mod twice now, with the same results.

Don't think so, as your problem appears to be limited to a certain system.
Mike had a character file error.
And about FL not working - reinstall Disco - but leave spinning planets off.
This has happened to other people and it is probably this problem...
1. Go to Freelancer\EXE\
2. In this directory you will find a file called content.dll
3. Move it to the Freelancer\DLLS\BIN directory (which is where it should be).
Oh yes, sometimes spinning planets cause trouble. I've recorded this as a bug (now).
