INCOMING TRANSMISSION

TARGET ID: Trident of Eris
The more you speak, the more my disgust with you grows.
A man stabs you in the back, twisting the knife. Murders your women and your children and you appease him, even beg him for peace You crawl for it
Yet when your friend stands up for you, is willing to fight at your side and actually do something to protect you and yours, that friend is accused of senseless brutality?
Your ignorance, ineptitude at diplomacy, and indolent platitudes for your enemies will be your downfall.
I await your senior diplomats return eagerly, congratulations; your first tentative steps into the realm of diplomacy have resulted in utter disaster. And now it remains for them to clean up your mess, do not fear, though, your idiocy in this matter will not reflect upon the rest of the TAZ just be wary
1) They should hold a friendly attitude towards the Coalition.
This is a hard and firm rule about any that wish to trade with us. You sir, have violated our primary tenant of trade. We will here-to-fore deny you any trade access, and restrict you from the benefits of our association.

From a base on Honshu, John Holliday catches up on his transmissions and, in a fit of rage, slams his fists on the desk before him

What is this? I spend a few days visiting family and then I find that what I've spent months building up starting to crumble?
Trident, I asked that the fort be held down in my absence and I didn't specify by whom. I know Commissar Katz rather well and he has been a huge help to us as a group. A simple "Doc will be home in a few days" will work next time a diplomatic response is necessary. I think the Commissar would have been just fine with that as an interim response.
Commissar, I thank you for your patience. I will be stuck on Honshu for another day before I depart for Baffin to my office there to take care of a few issues before I return home. I will send you a more thorough, private response from there.
Oh dear, looks like I've been scolded. Anyways please accept my humblest apologies Mr.Katz, I came on a bit strong in my opinion and I regret offending you. Thats definately not what I intended. If you see fit to bar me from ever seeing you or your men at home then I understand. I retract my argument and thank you for seeking to support us as you did.

Dont listen to the TAZ, Commander Katz. They have had an under-the-table deal with the Joker and the thugs, That is now becoming more and more apparent. They refuse to even get involved with the conflicts resulting from the attack at Freeport Five and Corfu Base. I doubt they could even be called "Zoners" Anymore. Don't accept their greased handshakes and their over-inflated words.

Heh...this coming from someone who keeps slaves as crewmembers or at least used to.
Refused to get involved? I beg to differ, Sir. Joker intended to murder 100's of Zoners in those attacks. Well, he failed because of the response. Of the 400 plust that were rescued, only 6 died as a result.
And you best be proving your claim of "under-the-table dealings" or shut your mouth.

Its funny, Mr. Holiday. You appear to be in my business an awful lot, but not the Zoners as a whole. You only look after your own, leaving on extended trips ignoring your duties. Its a full time job you know.
The Joker's insinuations are enough to make allegations of an under-the-table treaty with the TAZ, is all I have to say to you, not to mention "Asking" Aurelia to leave Baffin knowing Coronado was far less safe. I was also at Corfu, You remember. Not just your Medical Juggernaut. You might appear to care about lives of our people, but in the end, it is all to do with money. The Joker would pirate your fleets of Trade ships if you had not signed a deal, knowing you rescued all those he inteded to kill. You did NOTHING to stop the Joker passing through your system, which is oddly enough right next to his. Where do you think he was going? To murder more Zoners.

My business is medicine and I've made many friends from all over because of it. It's called respect, something I've worked hard for. I treat anyone who needs it regardless of affiliation.
Yes, I know you were at Corfu and your crews were exemplory.
I also ensure the safety of Baffin and the Zoners within it. By keeping it open for all traffic regardless of affiliation or cargo, we have preserved our peace within the sytem. I have enough people to maintain a presence that I don't need to stand watch 24/7.
I also have a psychological profile of the Joker, whoever he may be.
You obviously know little of the Joker's piracy tactics. He's not after money. He makes you drop a portion of your cargo and destroy it in front of him. If he was after money, he'd demand it.
He was never after Zoners in the first place. You are quick to point the finger at me though. His beef was with Aurelia Silvan and his attacks were against her and her people, not against those of us in faction that left the Council. I suppose now you're going to implicate the ZTC and OSI. I'll be sure to let them know if and when you do.
Instead of making accusations, stop and think about something. Did the Joker really get what he wanted? Between your crew, my crews and all present, we save the lives of some 400 Zoners while losing less than a dozen. He wanted mass casualties and he didn't get it. You don't have to use force against someone to hand them a defeat you know.
In regards to not allowing a blockade in Baffin. I stick to the no-fire, no-tax policy there regardless of who is there. I'll leave it at that.
I also signed no deals with him. He is insane and I would never do business with someone like that. If I had my way, I would rather study him in a cell and find out what makes someone like that tick. Sure, you can kill him but there are many more out there that are equall dangerous or worse.
"My god, Marvin has officially proven himself to be an utter moron. Dealings under the table with the Joker? He must honestly be as thick as molasses to have that rolling through his head. Tell me, how many times have you had your head slammed into a console? You may want to see a physician about your brain injuries. I fear you might be the next terrorist the Zoners deal with."
