This was it. He'd screwed up, for the last time. Nothing could take back what he'd done.
As he lay ther in his cell, the shackles braced to his arms weighing him down, he felt the weight of the world.
"If I had just...just drew the gun that little bit faster..."
He broke into sobbing. Prison was a cold place, cold enough to break even his stone heart.
A man walked into the room, glaring at Drake's face "Well, Mr. Calvin. Seems you ran out of luck..." The man began to laugh.
He wasnt in the mood for jokes. "Where tha' hell is my crew?!"
"Dead, thanks to you." The stark figure seemed amused by what he said. "Though, I have to say, your AI friend is giving us quite a run for our money. Dont you worry, though. We'll catch her and your ship soon enough."
There was a pause.
"Well, as to why Im here...your charges. Prisoner A28997-0, name: Drake Calvin. You have been charged with 7 counts of murder in the first degree, 8 counts of evading arrest, 13 counts of smuggling illegal goods, 2 counts of assault, and 21 counts of attempted murder. Do you know the minimum sentence?"
Drake laughed. "Like I care. Yea' know what? I'll give yea' yer sentence..."
The officer seemed to stumble at this remark, if just for a second.
"Yer sentence 'es instant death, as soon as I step outta' the's cell."
"Oh really? And how do you intend to do that? You've already tried to escape with brute force." The officer pointed to a panel "I dont think you can crack that, eh?"
He smirked. That idiot just showed him what he needed to do.
"Yea' wanna bet?" He started to pull of the tight polymer glove on his arm, revealing the prosthetic mechanics that replaced his mangled limb. As it was revealed, a look of horror came upon his captor's face.
He slammed a comm panel. "All personnel! Security breach secu-"
It was too late. Drake was already out, the sharpened ends of the metallic fingers through the man's chest.
"Sweet dreams..."
As the body fell limp, he grabbed the carbine off of the officer's hip.
He was getting out of this place.
The 9 Circles
His legs pounded away at the metal floor. He had no idea where he was. He just knew that he couldnt be caught again.
After what seemed like an eternity, he came upon a large, open room. Rows and rows of control consoles were inside, vacant.
"Funny" He thought. "They must all be after me"
He searched each one, looking for keys or guns...anything really. On one, he noticed a diagram.
Upon further inspection, it appeared to be a layout of the station, the LPI Sugarland. It also showed the locations of all the personnel living there. But, there was something even better.
In big, glaring letters, a button lied next to the map: EMERGENCY EVACUATION PROTOCOL
Laughing, he pressed it. Klaxon alrms blared, and all the cells on the diagram map gave the "open" signal.
With another quick search, he found the route to the impound bay, and uploaded it.
