The HFGB Silverfire spun around, weapons blazing. The Inquisition Fighter quickly became a ball of flames. The Gunboat turned away from Planet Houston, heading back to the California Jump Hole. These Inquisition villains were truly evil. Hunting down people just because they were different... yes, there was far too much evil in Sirius. It was time for a change... a purge... a new ship, that would become the Bane of not only Assassins that worked against the Legion, but against this evil Inquisition as well.
The time for the unveiling was rapidly approaching.
Engineers are hard at work, swarming around a huge, covered object in the Main Hanger. They often slip in and out from under the cover. Executive Commander Mori watches them with interest. As he looks on, a big group of them carry a large turret under the cover. Light comes from under the cover as they weld it on, revealing a shape that looks oddly like a Bounty Hunter Destroyer.
Denelo smiled. The Assassins that were now constantly assaulting Legion members wouldn't know what hit them.
The Assassin snuck up to the Vespucci jump hole in Magellan. Those other assassins may have failed... but he wouldn't. He was "Those other assassin's". No, he was a much better assassin than all those cheap wimps, and HE would succeed. Plus he had a secret weapon: A Laser sniper. He wouldn't get up close with a powerful weapon like the rest, no, he would just aim carefully and no one would ever know he'd been there. He turned towards the jump hole, but as he was about to jump, something large and brown jumped in, nearly running into him. He dodged as a green bolt of energy as the large object opened fire, then sped away and turned to see what it was.
It was a Rogue Gunboat. All it's guns were aimed straight at him.
Before the Assassin had time to react, his shields were down, his ship was almost destroyed, and there was a missile about to hit him. He pressed the "eject" button just as the missile met his ship. As his escape pod floated out, he hoped that it would be thrown clear of the wreckage. That was his last thought. A bolt of green connected with his escape pod.
It had happened. The HFGB Phoenixfire had been unveiled.
The Assassin's Bane had begun it's purge.

EDIT: (ooc: second part here: The Birth of a Phoenix)
Denelo Mori, the Executive Commander of the Hellfire Legion, was annoyed. Despite the brand-new gunboat, the HFGB Phoenixfire, patrolling the jump holes into Vespucci, someone had STILL managed to sneak in. The Assassin had also succeeded this time, or at least partially: Denelo had lent his bed to an injured solder, who was now dead, stabbed multiple times in the chest.
Denelo really had to do something. A single Gunboat couldn't patrol both holes...
Yes, Denelo was annoyed.
(ooc: This one's open posting, just check with me via PM before posting so I can make sure there aren't any major plot mess ups...)

A few days later...
---
Denelo paced back and forth aboard the HFGB Phoenixfire. The South Alliance had decided to support the evil Inquisition. This would most likely lead to another war... however, despite new recruits, the Legion was still weaker than usual. It was time to begin recruiting at full speed. It wouldn't be long before the GRC got it's first combat testing... That would be something that shouldn't be missed.
Also, there was Denelo's new goal... Genetic perfection. He should probably start pursuing that goal more... But as for now... it was raiding time. The South Alliance wouldn't know what hit them.
---
A few hours later...
---
"Very good job everyone. We certainly showed the South Alliance who will win this war." Denelo said to a small crowd of those who had participated in the raid. "Dismissed." Denelo turned and walked off.
The raid had gone very well. Very few loses on the Legion's side, and many on the opposition's side. But... it was practice time now. Denelo headed into the Training Room.
---
A few hours later...
---
A guard walked by the Training Room on his way to lunch break. "What in Sirius..." He mutters, sweating. "The heaters must be malfunctioning again..." He glanced at the Training Room door, thinking that the Executive Commander must be boiling in there, but to his shock, the door was red-hot. Then he, for some reason, smiled, and walked off...
As the Training Room door opened aboard the GRCS Goldenflame, smoke billowed out. Denelo walked out and down the hall. He'd finally managed it.
Denelo raised his comm unit to his mouth.
(ooc: By the way, I forgot to mention, each of the "A few hours/day/months/whatevers later" things is a different post, they were just all merged when I transfered everything to this thread.)
(ooc: Note, this post takes place about a month after the last one.)
The HFBC Phoenixstorm cruised through Omicron Delta. The ship was fresh from America Shipyards, and a real powerhouse. It was now hunting down a Nomad that had neared Freeport 11. The Nomad came into scanner range. Executive Commander Mori waited until the last moment. Then: "Fire." The Nomads shield came down nearly at once. The Gunboat, which was now circling the PHoenixstorm, was firing with all weapons. It passed the front of the ship, and exploded as a Mortar came into contact with it.
"Perfect, good job. Return to Freeport 11." Said Denelo.
A dark figure moved down the hallway from the prison area. It slipped from shadow to shadow, pausing only to watch for guards. The figure moved into the hanger, which was heavily guarded. It then slipped up behind a guard, hit him over the head and covered his mouth to silence the momentary yell. The figure pulled out the guard's keys, then snuck into a Scimitar. The guards all yelled and sounded the alarm as the Scimitar lifted off, blasted through the hanger door, and flew out of sight...
Magellan Jump Hole, Vespucci
The HFGB Phoenixfire, GRCS Goldenflame, and the new HFBC Phoenixstorm hovered near the Jump Hole. There had been a prisoner escape from Monterrey, and all jump holes were heavily guarded. The other was covered by the HFGB Silverfire and the HFB Silverstorm. There were also more ships headed to guard each one. The prisoner would not escape.
Executive Commander Mori stood at the front of the hall, preparing to make the speech they were all gathered to hear. He wondered why the Supreme Commander was not awarding the medal... ah well. He took a breath and began.
"We are gathered here today to celebrate the honor of a man in the Legion.
Among your ranks is one who has served the Legion countless times. One who has served well, and has helped bring even more fame to the Legion with his skill.
One among you has earned the highest honor in the Legion. The Medal of Honor.
I hereby present the Captain of the HFGB Mentu with the Medal of Honor, the highest award in the Hellfire Legion, for extensive service and extreme loyalty, as well as incredible skill.
Congratulations."
He stepped aside for the Major to make a speech.
After the Major's speech was over, Denelo headed out to the hanger. He had work to do.
