If you look at him you see a tall, avagare looking guy. Smart, but not well educated. You can see in his eyes that despite of his young age, he has been through a lot.
Jack Bane, age 27, born on Planet Houston into a family of factory workers. Like every other broke labourer on the planet, they worked multiple shifts to make enough money for the kids, Jack and his two younger twin sisters. As years passed, Jack spent less and less time in school and more on the streets with similar kids, and because of the long work hours his parents couldn't pay enough attention to him during the most crucial time of his childhood. What started as hanging out with kids on the streets continued with petty thefts and burglaries and even stealing a small spaceship to take it for a ride in the atmosphere. The local authorities were well aware of these crimes, but due to his young age, lack of evidence or the overwhelming amount of seroius felonies in the area, they would only hold him for a night at the local police station, just to make sure he won't get into trouble during that time. Soon it became obvoius to his parents that his current lifestyle will only lead to more serious crimes and possibly end with his early death. The best decision would have been to move to another planet and tear him out from his current environment, but without the necessary funds or a rich relative who would take him in, the best idea they could come up for him was to join the military, specifically the Liberty Navy. Since Jack always loved fast ships, guns and some violence, he enlisted at the age of 17.
The Navy proved to be a harsh and cruel place for a boy, but life was never easy for Jack before, so he wouldn't give up now. During the training he learned some patience and discipline, something he lacked before. After the basic training things started to ease up a bit, more freedom and less hostility. Jack started to be intersted in a military career, so he took several advanced courses about complex military operations, espionage, covert operations, about shady and mysterious side of the military he was always interested in. As years passed, Jack started to feel home in the Navy, he contacted his family on Planet Houston less and less, though he never forgot about them and did his best to help them with money, but unfortunately his naval officer salary was not enough for that. His days at the Navy were mostly quiet, he wasn't involved in big operations, he spent most of his time doing combat training and guarding the borders. Slowly and quietly he got promoted from one rank to another, untilhe was relocated to Alaska, to guard Liberty's borders where it's the most crucial.
But life had some trouble in store for him yet. Not long after being relocated to Alaska, his squad got a new superior. As it turned out this new officer only enlisted in the Navy only a few months before, no one under his command knew how this was possible at first. Jack looked into the background of this new superior and found that his quick promotion had nothing to do with his military achievements, but a lot more with his rich politician father, who wanted to further enhance his influence by putting his son to a key military position. The fact that somebody with enough influence can skip all that he has been through really disappointed Jack in the whole Navy. Jack never took measures against the new superior, but he saw that his presence was mischievous for the whole squad, since he was nor trained or qalified for a responsible position like that and he was well aware of Jack's dislike for him.
Several months have passed until Jack decided to do something to change this situation by helping the kid and not getting rid of him. So after a usual combat traning, which thanks to the incompetence of the squad leader was a total disaster, Jack approached him in the canteen and tried to explain him the erros in his tactics. Sadly the rich kid didn't take criticism good, probably because no one ever told him something he didn't like before, so his response was insulting Jack and his family. That was something Jack wouldn't tolerate, so punched him in the face. After that everything happened quickly, hit after hit untill people in the canteen rushed in to separate them. The rich kid ended up in the infirmary with some broken bones and several bruises, and Jack was arrested for assaulting his superior. He was soon transfered to a holding cell on Battleship Missouri, where his trial will be held. As his attorney informed him, getting expelled from the Navy is the least he will get, but due to the influence of the offended officer's father, most likely he will get prison, where he wouldn't survive for long as an ex-Navy officer. The only useable idea his attorney could come up with was to contact the Bounty Hunters Guild, since their members receive amnesty for their previous crimes, so leaving the Navy for good and joining the BHG would save Jack from prison. As his only hope Jack sent his application to the Guildmasters, to join an organization he is not yet familiar with.
