((This room is open to all characters that would be visiting Daisin/Stokes station, but please respect that this is the E&L Back Room))
Kai Kanawaba walked into the dingy bar on Daisin station. Luckily for the workers here, Samura had sent along a few women to spruce up the place, but for the Extraction and Logistics wing there was a little room in the back. Samura didnt want them interacting much with the other Samura personnel on the station. The E & L group were considered the lowest of the low to Samura, one step above the Gaijin, E&L were all the pilots that Samura didnt want around, but for one reason or another, could not get rid of.
Kai Kanawaba, Komi to his friends was a perfect example.
Komi had reached the ripe age of forty nine, and had become known for only one thing in his life. He had, downed five Rhineland ships during the battle of Honshu. He received a commendation from the Emperor himself, and was hailed all over Kusari as a war hero. For one brief period in his life, Komi was famous, but it quickly wore off. Komis problem of course is that he was not particularly good at following orders. His time in the KNF was marred by reports of firing on unauthorized targets, and violating rules of engagement. After being passed up for promotion 3 times Komi got the message and quietly retired, but as he is from Kusari, and a war hero, he knew he wouldnt not be left without a job, and quickly Samura hired him to run an escort wing for transports moving into Liberty, but after several complains from his wing mates of Komis ship, the Ironical Masterwork running headlong into attackers without need, Samura moved him back to Kusari proper and put him in an office on Shinkoku, but unfortunately Komi was not any good at the work, and he was transfer once again, to the Extraction and Logistics wing. E&L gets the worst of the worst assignments, and for Komi, it was mining gold in Dublin. Very dangerous work, but it seems it was the perfect fit for both Samura and Komi, as they didnt care if he died there, and it seemed neither did he.
Komi walked into the little room in the back and picked up a bottle of Sake, E&L employees were responsible for providing their own beverages here, unlike the tea room outside, Samura didnt provide workers or supplies for the E&L room, but that was no worry to Komi, as he had just come back from an escort run through Kusari, the captain of the transport had picked up several cases of Sake on the way, and after a dicey encounter with a Templar in Tau 31, had give Komi a case of it for the kill.
Komi sat down and began drinking, wondering when the other convoy would return, or if it would at all.
Etsuko Maehata, a young girl barely even twenty, entered quietly. Her convoy made it back; she herself had to put down two BAF pilots to ensure the survival of the transport. Harrowing work, and not without it's own dangers... This time a small cabin fire gave her a wonderful burn down her right forearm, which she mended herself and now hung in a makeshift sling. However, she was not to complain. She knew her place in Kusari, expendable and useless for anything but cannonfodder or motherhood.
Keeping her eyes low, she sat across the table from Komi. She respected him, he was a confident pilot and better than her by far... And generally seemed to be less hostile than the men above him in the food chain.
