This is a special utility craft provided for utilization in capturing images. It exists outside of the RP environment. Utilizing it for any purpose other than cinematography, or via specific permission granted, can result in repercussions.

hello, Testament is one of my finer RP characters.

whenever i use it i still record video footage with it.

it is a camera with a crudley made AI connected to it, that can find and track targets for observation.

i dont see why it has to exist outside the roleplay environment, its not abused, and ive never seen another camera besides myself in my entire time on the server.

I RP an artificial intelligence, i dont abuse it by calling in support of nearby ships or giving away the location of enemy ships, i simply record while roleplaying and trying to keep my nose clean with it, i try not to annoy people with it since i am vertually invincible, it is fun to see how players RP respond to my vessel scanning them and gathering "information" on thier ship, its interesting to see our natural fear of what we dont understand, or things that are inhuman.

yes i read the ship description, yes i knowingly broke the rules so i guess yes by all means put me in prison.

but the way i see it (which i know doesnt matter) is this:

its a tiny tiny "ship" a camera with thrusters connected to each side of it to allow it to move in space, so its about the 1ft cubed max, really little, hence invisible but still targetable. it is connected to an AI which also has RP, (but not on here since I dunno where to put it) which other players ingame know and accept, I dont cause a problem with this ship and have screenshots here if you want to see them about me "calling in reinforcements"

anyway, ive said my piece, i guess its up to you, PS please dont delete it my entire clan fund is on it, thanks.

first i was playing as my Gunboat [DSS-E]-Tiresias, which got owned as usual because i can only role play, not fight.

so I launched Testament from leeds to go and record the fight between the bretonian and Kusari destroyers HMS-Invictus and IKN-Hiei. which was awesome, and got great video from that which is compressing as we speak.

then went to newlondon to find a kusari very heavy fighter there, the fight went on for so long i stopped recording it

then after a long time i moved to find a corsair which was broadcast to be on the TL between Kesington and Manchester,

so I went down, didnt find anything, came back and then it was broadcast by the same ship that a corsair was at the Cambridge Jump gate,

So I went there, scanned the ship, then they started fighting already BAF ships were approaching I stated who was fighting, the corsair tried to engage me, i dodges saying :::combat warning::: then some odd ship appeared infront of me, and i was suddenly in Jail.

was just trying to break the Powertrader/Pirate/Powertrader/Pirate, monotonony and bam, im in jail.
on my gunboat file i saw a intelligence services ID for bretonian ships for like 1000000, i thought itd be cool to get one for the ship to make the RP more real, but i cant go there without being killed :/:(

Here's the good news - you have the ability to continue to RP as a robot photographer, doing whatever you want, and you've now been released from Bastille.

Here's the bad news - your ship, while mysteriously traveling from point A to point B, has been fined 3,476 credits (something about the rounding off error) and got a guest-starring role in the movie 'Transformers XXVII - Return of the Role Play'. Which means that it also got transformed from a camera ship back into a starflier.

Doesn't mean you can't change your ship again - but not into a camera ship. If you're going to role-play, then you need to do it in something that can be seen, targeted, and potentially blown up by other players. Camera ships are similar in this resepct to admin ships in that they exist outside of the role-play environment.

you cant take videos in a ship that isnt the camera ship (of course you can, but to no where near the effect and scope.)

a starflier however manueverable it is, cant travel 200 in any direction:(which also means that in fast moving battles i wont be able to move freely and capture the fight to its full potential from any angle I see fit.

can i have a camera ship and just not talk with it, and have some other form of AI ship that i can roleplay my AI with?

last question, what was that crazy ship you turned up with that made a freeky noise before I was jailed?

if I may say something, the battle footages from Testament will be missed as a fresh addition to the BAF message dump. And it's RP was pretty fun too, I doubt anyone that met that camera ship have anything to complain about it.

If you act outside of the RP environment - changing the name to something like BAF film ship or whatever - that's perfectly fine. I have a personal camera ship for taking films of battles as well. The key thing is - you cannot, with this one ship, interact in the role play environment with it. It blatantly says so on the ship description.

And no, Rob, you can't say anything. I'm being lenient and not turning your ship into a starflier as well, since... those that post in sanctions and/or admin actions that aren't directly involved can have bad things happen to them. (Plus, hey, I'm still the new guy, and not nearly as crazy as Dusty.)

If you wish to be an AI, then RP as an AI with whatever ship you want. There's a LPI Drone running around in New York RP'ing as an AI.

If you wish to do it otherwise, then you need a special request for AI ID or be part of a faction that allows AI ID's.

Telling me that the forums make no sense indicates that you have problems understanding something around here. Please feel free to ask for assistance (in another thread) if there is something that is unclear.
